+ve's.....Stayed on a powered caravan site which offered excellent space. Facilities that are available such as pool/spa etc were fantastic, heaps to do for kids. Plenty of walking tracks around resort, great for spotting wildlife such as kangaroos/wallabies etc. Amenities were clean and warm. Great water pressure roomy shower cubicles. Peaceful place to relax. Camp kitchen is impressive, although it did run out of hot water in a peak period after dinner when ppl were trying to do their dishes. The decking and kiosk at the pool is excellent providing gorgeous views and plenty of seating. Playgrounds and jumping pillow are shaded (great for kids). There is also plenty of open lawn/oval space for kids to play ball games etc, without disturbing guests, the grass is kept low and lush.
-ve's Discrepancies from reception staff which had to be clarified by accomm manager, it was resolved easily enough prior to booking by Lisa. Were not told about free night offer, when it was mentioned to staff at reception on leaving, the attitude was very disappointing....it was one of 'oh well, if you don't tell us, we will not volunteer the information' (even the council run caravan park at Warrnambool tells their guests of a pay 6 nights stay 7 offer upon arrival). I was refunded a nights accomm which was great. however, that i found about this offer from other patrons and not resort staff was still below what i would have expected in a 5 star resort. The BBQ's were often dirty around park, i understand ppl are supposed to clean them after use, clearly this does not happen all the time and not once did we see anyone from the resort cleaning them. We were also not told on arrival some key things like the availability of a tv antenna lead (fortunately i had read about it on the website), this is a fantastic option to use as it provides a perfect signal...... not told how to turn off the large site light (which i discovered how to do myself), which would've been handy information to have. I passed this information onto other caravanners who also found the light annoying at night.
The resort seems to lack car parking near the pool for example, someone with mobility issues/breathing issues who would struggle to walk the distance from the reception carpark. A drop off point would be handy. Also a dedicated toddlers indoor play area would be nice, at the moment there is a small area in the games room.
I would absolutely stay here again (despite not being able to stay with family/friends who only have tents as an option), purely because of the facilities on offer... although next time i will bring my own BBQ.
