“Caravanners who like to be spolied!”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

+ve's.....Stayed on a powered caravan site which offered excellent space. Facilities that are available such as pool/spa etc were fantastic, heaps to do for kids. Plenty of walking tracks around resort, great for spotting wildlife such as kangaroos/wallabies etc. Amenities were clean and warm. Great water pressure roomy shower cubicles. Peaceful place to relax. Camp kitchen is impressive, although it did run out of hot water in a peak period after dinner when ppl were trying to do their dishes. The decking and kiosk at the pool is excellent providing gorgeous views and plenty of seating. Playgrounds and jumping pillow are shaded (great for kids). There is also plenty of open lawn/oval space for kids to play ball games etc, without disturbing guests, the grass is kept low and lush.

-ve's Discrepancies from reception staff which had to be clarified by accomm manager, it was resolved easily enough prior to booking by Lisa. Were not told about free night offer, when it was mentioned to staff at reception on leaving, the attitude was very disappointing....it was one of 'oh well, if you don't tell us, we will not volunteer the information' (even the council run caravan park at Warrnambool tells their guests of a pay 6 nights stay 7 offer upon arrival). I was refunded a nights accomm which was great. however, that i found about this offer from other patrons and not resort staff was still below what i would have expected in a 5 star resort. The BBQ's were often dirty around park, i understand ppl are supposed to clean them after use, clearly this does not happen all the time and not once did we see anyone from the resort cleaning them. We were also not told on arrival some key things like the availability of a tv antenna lead (fortunately i had read about it on the website), this is a fantastic option to use as it provides a perfect signal...... not told how to turn off the large site light (which i discovered how to do myself), which would've been handy information to have. I passed this information onto other caravanners who also found the light annoying at night.

The resort seems to lack car parking near the pool for example, someone with mobility issues/breathing issues who would struggle to walk the distance from the reception carpark. A drop off point would be handy. Also a dedicated toddlers indoor play area would be nice, at the moment there is a small area in the games room.

I would absolutely stay here again (despite not being able to stay with family/friends who only have tents as an option), purely because of the facilities on offer... although next time i will bring my own BBQ.

We just returned home from staying here so that we could watch the MotoGP on Phillip Island. We towed our camper-trailer and stayed on one of the ensuite sites. As it was cold and raining when we arrived, the ensuite was really appreciated, especially the heater, and the shower was nice and hot and strong. The grounds were nicely kept and neat and tidy. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night, and the food was lovely. We had bruchetta entree (shared), both had different fish and then rounded it off with the chocolate mousse for dessert (also shared - beautiful). This is by no means a "cheap" camping holiday, but when its cold and raining, having your own ensuite is nearly heaven. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for a couple of nights with our 2 young children on an ensuite site. Whats not to like excellant facilities large sites and numerous play grounds for children. Including flying fox, jumping pillow and great climbing structures. The camp kitchen is second to none even having a dishwasher. The grounds are well maintained and there are ample walking tracks etc. If staying in Inverloch this is a must for any one caravaning with children. The restaurant is excellant even if you just want a coffee. The kids loved the heated pool and didnt want to leave. We will definatly be back again.

My partner and I booked into the premium ocean view room. Unfortunately, the place is under renovation which we were not informed at time of booking over the phone. It was a cold and rainy afternoon so rather than go out, we thought we would make use of the indoor heated swimming pool. We asked a male staff member at Reception where the swimming pool was and he told us that there was no covered walkway connecting the main resort to the recreation centre and told us we had to walk outside in the rain. There is a covered canopy that connects the main resort to the ocean view rooms which is close to the recreation centre but he did not even give us that option. The entrance to the canopy is through the restaurant but we were properly dressed. We also asked him about the bathroom fan in our room which was making a very loud noise. He clearly did not know the answer to it but just muttered something which totally did not make sense. We did not pursue the issue as he was not helpful. Overall, the hotel is very nice and comfortable but there is really not much to do here and there is hardly any good reasonably priced food at the hotel or in Inverloch town.

Dear Joyous85

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the resort and for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

The resort is currently undergoing expansion and redevelopment works to further improve the facilities on offer to our members and guests. Once complete the new facilities will offer an additional loung bar area, increased restaurant seating, private dining areas and a number of upgrades to existing facilities. These works are explained to guests upon making a reservation and then again through the confirmation letter. If this did not occur on this occassion for your booking then my apologies. Your comments have been provided to the accommodation manager to follow up with her team. Customer service is taking very seriously at the Resort, so your comments regarding access to the pool area and assistance from reception have also been passed on to be followed up and rectified.

Overall we are glad that you had a comfortable stay at the resort. I certainly encourage you stay again, especially when the new facilities are completed, and sample what our new kitchens have to offer. Our accommodation manager would also be very happy to assist you with what the local area has to offer and suggest some activities that are available to visitors.

Was really looking forward to lunch here. We have eaten here before and it was quite nice but it appears the service and food has dropped in quality since. It will be a long time until we visit again. Just go to a nice cafe in Inverloch, can't do any more ordinary than we had.

Your comments have been passed onto the Chef and while comments are normally very positive about our food, we welcome any feedback to improve what we offer to our guests. Our Chef would certainly like to speak with you personally about your feedback, so that he can incorporate any possible changes into the next menu or generally into the kitchen.

Once again thank you for your feedback and we would like to see you at the resort again to try our food.

We stayed at the Inverloch resort for 2 nights and wish we stayed longer.
We really enjoyed our time there. The 2 bedroom vila was huge, spotless and fully self serviced. Like other comments it was indeed really cold in the bedrooms but calling the reception at around 9pm (and not expecting an immediate response) we got, within 30' from our call, 2 heaters for each room which were great! Now that's a good customer service! In general the customer service was great and the staff was friendly and attentive.

The facilities were great and perfect for our 7 & 10mth old
Staying during September we really enjoyed the indoor heated swimming pool and the tennis courts (we avoided the school holidays so it was quite and relaxing). only comment would be that I expected a life guard in the swimming pool!

Only downsize would have to be the breakfast which was expensive and very very average (to say the least) but other than that, great place and will definitely come back. Well done RACV :)

In general, we loved Inverloch! Its a great place to visit, with a cute farmers market, great scones and the delicious Vela 9 restaurant. Highly recommended :)

Dear Michal Y

Thank you for your great feedback regarding your recent stay at the RACV Inverloch Resort. We are always happy to see that members and guests have enjoyed their time at the Resort.

Your comments around the Villa heating are appreciated and this is something that we are currently working on. Until we can add additional permanent heating we provide poratble untis as you have mentioned. Feedback regarding the breakfast buffet has been passed onto our Chef and he is working on a new buffet menu at present. He has also recently redeveloped the breakfast a la carte menu to add further options for our guests. The swimming pool is a great facility at the Resort and well liked by our guests. We certainly take safety at the resort very seriously, however you will find at hotels and resorts the swimming pool areas do not have life guards in general. Resonsibilty rests with parents to supervise their children while swiming and while in these area. We do naturally take as many precautions as possible to make the area as safe as possible for our guests.

Again thank you for your comments and feedback, this certainly assists us to constantly work on improving what we have to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back to the resort in the future.

We have stayed here once before and were very happy with it on that occasion. This time round not quite so much. The actual room itself was fine, lovely big bed, good sized bathroom and very clean.

However, it was very cold the couple of days we were there and the main sitting/dining area was definitely on the cool side. I wore both my cardigan and jumper in order to stay reasonably warm. A number of other guests commented on it was cold inside and one said he had asked for the temperature to be turned up in the restaurant, only to be informed that was not possible to adjust the temperature. Fortunately the bedrooms have their own controls so they were fine.

As we were part of a conference, on the second night our dinner was served in a separate room over by the pool. It was over an hour between entree and the main course and when the mains did arrive they were only warmish. I had noticed when I popped outside to the toilet that the mains were all sitting on a table in another room,, no overhead heaters or anything else to keep them hot. I don't know how long the plates had been there when I went past but it was a good 5 mins before they were served. If they are going to offer a separate room then they need to make sure they have the facilities to do it properly. As it was a set menu they could hardly have been taken by surprise by the orders so should have had the situation well under control.

If I am down Inverloch way I would still stay here again as, overall, it is very good, but on this occasion they did not live up to their usual standards.

Thank you Shandy40 for providing your comments regarding your recent stay at the RACV Inverloch Resort. We always value feedback so that we can continue to improve experiences provided to our members and guests.

Naturally we are disappointed to receive such feedback and to hear of the drop in standards in some areas during your stay. We pride ourselves on the quality of our product and service usually provided, so we apologise that this was not as good as it should have been on this occasion.

At present we are undergoing major construction and development in our continued improvement of facilities for our guests. The main lodge is being redeveloped to add a new 100 seat lounge bar area and a new 250 seat conference & wedding centre, along with associated infrastructure upgrades. This unfortunately places additional demands on existing facilities and services. Every effort is being made to work around these challenges and overcome any uncontrollable side effects. All our guests are informed of these works at time of booking and relevant accommodation and conference groups rates have been adjusted to assist through this period.

Your feedback has been discussed with the relevant teams and every effort will be made to rectify and overcome these issues. We sincerely regret that your experience was not as good as it should have been, however we hope that you return to enjoy the Resort in the future. We thank you for your understanding on this occassion and for spending the time to provide feedback.
