The restaurant is children friendly and staff work well with them. Food is excellent, fresh produce and well combined. Breakfasts are great and substantial.

I have lunched at this cafe several times and always enjoyed the meal, the coffee, and the friendly service.

Travelled up to Healesville to see the Archibald's at Tarra Warra Museum and Gallery on a cold wintery day. Stopped off at the very crowded Wattleseed Cafe for lunch. I had a beer and a lovely piece of Barramundi and my wife had the Thai soup and brushetta & a coffee. All up we were out of there in 1hr and well feed for under $60 incl drinks. Great value, efficient service and a warm and friendly place to go before seeing the potrates. Book both in for June or July 2013 and you will not be disappointed.

We were there mid week & tried the Healesville Hotel - unispired by the small menu and the fact you had to pay extra for salad ($6) & chips($6) with your steak?? So we went for a walk and looked at the menu at Wattelseed. We liked the choices and the fact there were very few tables vacant on a Wed. Service was good & a bottle of cold water was on the table before we even ended looking at their menu. The beer was cold and the food was a bit "pub" like, but it is a cafe restaurant and is more casual than formal. My wife had the salmon & rissoto with lemon myrtle hollandaise sauce from the specials board which she said was one of the nicest rissotos she's had. I had the turn'n'surf, $6 extra on the price of the steak, mine was rump - $20.50 or $24 depending on size. It was a good sized rump with plenty of prawns & scollops, home made large wedges, a yummy garlic sauce & a small side salad. The only negative was the steak was more mediun than medium rare. We would have liked to try one of the many desserts but we were both full as a goog.
