“Worth walking the extra block!”
Reviewed May 11, 2014 via mobile

I read about Wombat's Chai on tripadvisor and had to visit as we love wombats and chai!!! We ordered the soup of the day (potato and bacon) which also was full of delicious mushrooms. Very hearty and tasty. Also had avocado, feta and lemon on sourdough seeded bread and the feta was outstanding. We bought some and a bread loaf to takeaway. The chai was amazing and yes, we bought a bag of that too!! So kind and friendly, Wombat's Chai offer suspended coffee and soup, so you can advance pay for someone less fortunate. I love this practice and hope it spreads. Thank you ladies!

“Quirky Cafe”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

This tiny quirky little cafe is a great place to eat and caters for dietary needs in a big way and is filled with beautifully organic food that is tasty, tasty, tasty! Today we had Curried Sweet Potato Soup that was delicious and the Garlic Mushroom were divine. The little shed that comprises the cafe was warm and cosy. There is plenty to choose from a menu made that is predominantly made up of locally sourced produce. There is space outside on a sunny day to sit. Open Monday
to Friday from 7 am till 4pm and Saturdays 8am till 2pm. Try some of the biscuits and cakes and buy a jar of jam on the way out. Excellent value! Go there!

“Homely and friendly cafe”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

We stopped at Wombat's Chai for a lazy lunch on our way to the Yarra Valley wineries. I had the lentil dahl and it was absolutely delicious - so warming and comforting on a cold-ish day. I also picked up a jar of their organic jam on the way out, which is also very yummy. Will definitely come back when I am next in the area.

“DIFFERENT DARING DELICIOUS”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

We were looking for a place for breakfast and found this place on Tripadviser. With all reviews giving a 5/5 we decided to give it a try. An interesting first impression - very much like visiting your favourite Aunty. The cafe is like a cross between a homey kitchen or little town corner shop from the 60s or 70s. While I didn't get her name, our waitress and cook (really, my favourite Aunty!) met us then cooked the most amazing breakfast served with coffee matching any top cafe in Melbourne and a mixture of fresh juices on recommendation. Absolutely awesome. We'll definitely be back!

“Friendly Service and Delicious Breakfasts!”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Had brunch here on the two days we stayed in Healesville - lovely staff, lots of organic and locally-sourced produce, plenty of vegetarian options and gluten-free foods. Will visit again next time we are in town.
