Description: Old world charm with new world style, this classic country hotel is at the heart of the Yarra Valley. We are now offering great food, seven days of the week using the best of the season and region. Choose from a selection of smaller snacks and tastes to nibble on with your glass of local wine... Next, let us carve some of our famous K&B charcuterie; Italian parma ham, bresaola, Spanish salamis, and our house made pork, veal and pistachio terrine... served with crusty bread, little pickled vegetables and caper berries. Our kitchen are slow cooking local lamb shoulders for 12 hours... and roasting local Berkshire pork belly. Finish with Sophie's selection of perfectly ripened cheeses, hand picked from our copper cheese cabinet in our providore, Kitchen & Butcher. Our new menu also features hearty classic 'pub style' dishes to satisfy the hungriest diner.

You have to expect to pay for the sort of high end cuisine you get here. The menu reflects the produce grown here, such as a rolled rabbit entree - superb and even little portions of Jerusalem artichokes. You can get truffles for a premium too. The presentation of every dish was as artistic as the tastes were balanced. I haven't been to a one hat restaurant for years and, yes, it is worth the money spent. Both the waiter and sommelier were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and certainly don't have that horrible air of superiority you get in some city establishments. They were very busy on the night which meant we had to find our own coats on leaving. But overall, well done to everyone, especially the chef in particular, for a fine dining experience. As we come to Healesville every year we will definitely be back for further gourmet experiences.

We wandered down to the hotel for a meal on a Wednesday night after a recommendation. It's a self service style venue - order drinks at the bar, get your own cutlery etc. the food was delicious - definitely not your standard pub food, in particular my grazing platter was amazing! They had the open fire going and also an outside seating area so great for dining in all seasons

We dined at the Healesville Hotel bar. Whilst the atmosphere may not have been as sumptuous as the dining room the food was delicious and good value. We both had pork and fennel sausages with colcannon mash - a simple dish but very tasty. The big plus was the child's meal of meatballs and pasta - I tasted the little meatballs and delicious. It's great to see restaurants catering for children who like good wholesome food and taking care with their meals as well and not just anything thrown into a deep fryer. So if we visited again I would defnitely go back to the hotel bar for a meal.

Visited tonight for Mother's Day as we were in the area from Perth for a wedding. Entrees of squid and saganaki cheese were divine, the depth of flavor in the cheese and salad took my breath away. Stole a piece of Mum's squid and it melted in the mouth, accompanied by a thick, rich aioli. We both had fish and chips for main which came promptly and had the lightest, crispier batter. Yum!!! The staff were friendly, as we found everywhere in Healesville. Kudos!
