“The best fun ever”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

My elderly Mother, myself and 2 friends spent the most amazing weekend in this studio in Healesville. On the first introductory day we had the opportunity to make a few small pieces which were cool enough to take home on the second day, giving us some items to brag about almost immediately. Our teacher was gentle knowledgable and helpful. A fun day was had by all.
On the second day we were able to each design our own glass items and were able to do as much or as little as we felt comfortable to do. The second day items are available for pick up on the following day. On this day our teacher Tim was wonderful. My Mother was treated with respect and had a fantastic time, being involved in the design of her pieces and being heavily asissted to enable her to be involved in the making of her creations (within the confines of her abilities). She felt safe and supported in the learning environment. I had the opportunity to be more involved, whilst my friends were each able to express their individuality. This was accommodated with ease. All three glassblowers in this studio contributed extensively to our experience and were generous with their time, knowledge, stories and their warmth. We also enjoyed cuddles from the studio dog, "Monet" who is a delight!

“Amazing what skilled artisans can create”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

I collect glass paperweights, so have been to several hot-glass studios in different parts of the world. However, I still get a thrill out of watching a skilled team of people create something beautiful out of a lump of molten glass. Not to mention the inherent danger! Hot, hot, hot!!!

Be sure to visit the studio to observe the process, from Thursday to Sunday.

“Amazing artists at work”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We thought we would just go for a quick visit to the glassblowing studio and left after 1.5 hours. We were amazed by the glass blowing in progress and the objects that they produced were beautiful and yes we bought a lovely piece while we were there. It is a fasinating place to visit and it is just outside Healesville..

Thank you for taking the time to review us, it means a lot to us. We fell in love with the medium years ago and we are still fascinated by it! We opened our studio to the public because we wanted to share this beautiful art. When people like yourself drop in for a moment and stay longer than they expected we feel very much appreciated!!

You can watch the glass blowing which is very interesting and they had a good selection of vases and jewellery to purchase.

“A privilege to watch”
Reviewed March 29, 2012 via mobile

We were fortunate enough to arrive at the studio just as Tim and his assistant were starting a large piece. Although our 2 year olds were nonplused and it was understandably hot in the viewing gallery, it was a privilege for us to watch this creativity unfolding in front of us. Yes, the artists are not that keen on giving you a full talk through as they do thier work but the intensity of making this piece meant they didn't have time. The glass on sale was a little expensive for us but there was no pressure to buy anything. A great way to spend an hour in Healsville.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We love what we do and it is always a pleasure for us to see someone else enjoying the process. We appreciate that you understood how difficult it is for us to communicate with our visitors during the making of a big piece, it's not because we are not willing, we need to be focused and can't lose concentration for a second. When we are making small pieces we have more opportunity to explain the process as we work, but watching a big piece being made is so much more exciting! When we have finished making a piece we are always more than happy to take the time to explain what we were doing before we start another.
Thanks also for pointing out that we don't pressure anyone into buying. It is very expensive to run a glass blowing studio and those costs are reflected in the price of our pieces. We do make a point of making small, affordable trinkets as well as our large vases and exhibition pieces . We love anyone who is to come and see our amazing craft.
Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your time in Australia.
