We enjoyed our 3 night stay in Unit 9 with its lovely view to the mountains. Our room was clean and comfortable and Stephen & Peggy made us very welcome. The tariff is very reasonable and they also serve a great breakfast. The motel is within walking distance to the Information Centre, shops & cafes and it doesn't take long to drive to the many lookouts and waterfalls.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back with its great mountain view

We stayed two nights at Kookaburra during Queen's birthday long weekend. It is located very close the the main street with easy access to all shops and restaurants. But being one block away from the main street, it is also very quiet.

The hotel as it claimed is not a luxury one, but all facilities are well maintained. The heater is really handy and powerful, which is a must have during winter days.

The lady who manages here is very friendly and recommend us the eating places as well as places to go.

Given the price of this hotel, I'd recommend people coming Halls Gap or the Grampians to stay here.

We stayed at Room 9 during our two nights stay at Kookaburra. We requested for one of the rooms at the back and it was so beautiful. Our back yard view is superb! We get to see the nice mountains. Unfortunately, we didn't see kangaroos at the backyard but Halls Gap itself has a lot of kangaroos around :) Saw a few of them.

The room has surprisingly fast internet speed with strong signal. Heater in the room is not as good as it is placed at the bottom, but if you are traveling not during winter season it shouldn't be a problem. Bathroom is big and spacious. For 3 person, the room size is just about right, it does not feel too cramp but there is not this extra spacious feeling. If the room comes with a microwave it will be better..or if they have a common kitchen with microwave/stove it will be better.

Peggy, the owner is very helpful and friendly. She totally made us feel welcome :) Overall, we had a great time during our stay at Halls Gap and we explored many great places within Grampians.

Room Tip: Request for room at the back for a great view!

We arrived to find a kookaburra sitting on the rooftop and a wallaby bounding across the courtyard car park.

The room was clean and adequate with a patio outside the sliding French door with a table and chairs. We did, however, have to vie with Cockatoos, Currawongs, Wattlebirds and Fairy Wrens to take possession!

Furnishings were simple but did the job. All-in-all a good value-for-money stay.

We stayed for one night in April en route from Adelaide to Melbourne. This was our second stay and we were very happy with our choice. The owners are very friendly and we were shown to our room on check in. While the decor is somewhat dated the room was clean, comfortable & well appointed. Breakfast is available or there are adequate facilites to prepare your own (toaster, kettle, bar fridge, table & chairs in room). Good location & walking distance to shops, restaurants & walking trails. A good value for money motel.
