“Very friendly Motel”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

We stayed at the Grampians Motel and chose this motel because of the Trip Advisor's recommendations and we were not disappointed. Warm comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean and maintained.
They have a lovely breakfast included. I would recommend this motel to my friends.

I recently arranged a business team building activity at the Grampians Motel. Chris Gavin and Jeff could not have been more obliging. The facilities are great and our conference was highly regarded by my team. Food, facilities and the bonfire was all magic. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I was part of a group of 25 people who used The Grampians Motel as a conference location for 2 days. A great venue. Comfortable, really good catering. Chris and Jeff (the proprietors) couldn't do enough for the group - very warm and welcoming hosts.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet and peaceful in a wonderful setting

Seems a lot of Motel accommodations near touristy spots are made of the Cinder blocks. I am sure it is to prevent mold in areas with a lot of moisture..I did not mind it though. Not surprisingly the decor was very outdated but it must be hard for small business owners to generate the income for upgrades. Seems it was one of the better places to stay in the area and I was Ok with the good nights sleep in a clean room and a Hot shower in the morning before we set off. We had a nice breakfast at the Motel with the owners bustling around and the resident elder kanga watching us through the window the entire time. At night they had a nice Bonfire and if you want to see some kangaroo's, this is the place to go. Just watch your step!

Room Tip: We had a larger room in the back. Nice view, wet time of the year so it was a bit muddy....leave you...

We recently spent 10 days here with Chris and Jeff and of course Lemontree the kangaroo . Wonderful motel, warm, relaxing, clean, bed very comfortable, fantastic views from both sides of our room and spacious. The grounds are beautiful ,animals abound and the bonfire each night is a welcome addition to meet new friends. Price wise was very reasonable
The restaurant is superb,Lisa the chef thank you for making me put on a few kilos.
Chris and Jeff became friends and we spent a few lovely times around the fire talking with drinks in hand.
Greg and I will definitely return. Thank you so much to everyone and to the ladies also who clean and do the laundry and the restaurant so very consciencous .
This motel and restaurant is on the must do at the Grampians and if you do stay tell them we said to say hi from the grey nomads

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room at the back of the building all ground floor and easy access with a door on bot...

Hi Greg and Dianne thank you for your amazing review after your 10 day stay with us. We were impressed with how thoroughly you explored the Grampians and all it has to offer.
You made our chef's day when we passed on your compliments and we agree , they really do a great job.
Our bonfire nights are truly one of the highlights of staying at the Grampians Motel and appreciated by all our guests, especially with a few drinks in hand!
Many thanks for the wonderful photos you emailed to us and it was not surprising "Lemon Tree" featured regularly in them.
Please keep in touch and we look forward to looking after the 'grey nomads' on their return visit. We'll be thinking of you on the 24th.
Kind Regards Chris and Jeff

Our first trip to The Grampians was made even better by the wonderful hosts, human and the one who thinks he is, at The Grampians Motel. Chris, Jeff and Lemontree were friendly and welcoming. The room had spectacular views from front and back. Waking each morning with the birds on your doorstep and roos munching just metres away was amazing. We walked each morning, and there was always something new to see... emus, deer and more surprises each day.
The motel is set well back from the road so there is great views from everywhere and mininmal noise from what little traffic passes by. Our beds were comfortable and the shower had great pressure...truly needed after wandering through the mountains.
We dined twice in the restaurant and our meals were fantastic. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff, including Lemontree, were always helpful and entertaining.
If you're looking for a place to stay thats in a great location, with breathtaking views, fantastic hosts and wildlife on your front door we couldn't reccommend anywhere better!

James and Inge

Room Tip: Choose the deluxe which has front and back entrances for twice the views.

I would rather camp then stay here again.

First of all we showed up 20 minutes before check in and were sent away. An hour early I could understand but 20 minutes come on. The front desk snapped at us for wanting to check in early.

The bedding was probably older then the hotel with stains on the sheets and a seriously gross comforter that had gross hairs on it. I refused to sleep in the bedding. My pillow was also hard as a rock. You would think that if a place like this is charging over $100 for a room out in the middle of no where that they could and would update the bedding if not the rooms.

The bonfire was my favorite part, loved it. It was stocked once by the hotel staff and we kept it going until we were ready for bed.

The free breakfast was minimal but ok.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that we didn't meet all your expectations.
Clearly you were unhappy about not being able to be checked into your rooms early but unfortunately this was not impossible due to a high turnover of rooms that morning.
Our pillows and comforter sets are less than 12 months old and are appreciated by the majority of our guests.
I'm pleased you enjoyed our wonderful bonfire with all the wood supplied for the enjoyment of all our guests.
Regards Chris
