Boroka Downs is set on a sprawling property 10 minutes from Halls Gap. We stayed in Lodge 1, which has a lovely view over a shallow little valley with a small dam at the bottom of the hill.

The wildlife is the true highlight of this place, kangaroos abound and bound very close to the lodge as well as congregating at dusk at the dam for a drink.

The day we arrived was over 40° so we stayed indoors with the A/C on watching the kangaroos and local birds (rosellas and tiny little Splendid Wrens) drink from the water bowl right outside the floor to ceiling windows - what a delight.

Bob met us when we arrived and was tremendously helpful, highlighting the local walks and giving us great info on the local places to visit.

All in all a beautiful experience, and exactly the place for a romantic weekend.

It was even more than we had imagined. A luxury house from where you can see the animals walking around. Kangaroos, emoes, all kind of different birds, hedgehog, deers. The house is fully equipped. We have cooked two evenings. There were foodproducts like milk, eggs, butter and things for breakfast. Other groceries we had bought in Hamilton when we passed there. It is also not so far from Halls Gap. We can recommend the Indian restaurant. Gladly we stayed 3 nights. There is a lot to see and beautiful walks in The Grampians.

Had 3 nights here and wished it was 6. so much to see and do in The Grampians. This accommodation is the best in the area with all luxury amenities. Everything has been thought of in the design of these beautiful homes to make our stay a wonderful one. Bob and Steph couldn't service us any more than they did. They left us in peace when we needed and were at our every beckoned call when required. The outlook from every room was spectacular, waking up in the morning to grazing Kangaroos outside our bedroom window with the spectacular backdrop of the mountains behind was wonderful. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Halls Gap and looking to be spoilt to book your stay here

Boroka Downs is truly a 5 star experience. From the moment we arrived our expectations were surpassed. Every single detail of the room was perfect, we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and more. The continental breakfast provisions were generous and we had plenty of Nespresso coffee pods. The views were stunning, there was so much wildlife around and the kangaroos came right up to our doorstep. It was amazing to be able to sit in the spa and take in these views through the window wall. The hosts were very accomodating and friendly, happy to help in any way and very knowledgable of the region. They were also very good at giving us our own space and privacy - they're happy to help you as much or as little as you like. We honestly cannot fault a single thing and we will definitely stay at Boroka Downs again!

A mob of kangaroos and a group of emus as we arrived. All this space and only five units! So peaceful and quiet and removed.

They took a blank slate- a sheep farm. Made a facility that is special and unique, environmentally thoughtful, beautiful, complete, amazing to experience from the human experience to the experience of the wildlife and nature - night, quiet, stars- add warm and generous service from the hosts... we have travelled the world and stayed in some amazing places. This is close to, if not the top.
