“Treat yourself... You won't regret it!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

What a fabulous place! We recently stayed at Baroka Downs for the long weekend in the 2 bedroom bungalow and were very very impressed. Everything exceeded our expectations. The owners Bob & Stephanie really go above & beyond for their guests. Service as good as this is a real rarity in this day in age.

The Bungalow was comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean! From the moment you walk in the door, you will feel at home. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need, beds & pillows were very comfortable and the picturesque setting is to die for. We woke up to baby kangaroos drinking from the bird bath just outside our window. My only disappointment was that the second bedroom didn't have an air con unit but this wasn't a major issue.

I'll admit, the place isn't cheap but trust me, it's worth every penny! We can't wait to go back!

We’re glad you enjoyed your weekend with us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Boroka Downs.

We’ve not had an issue with the air cond in the second bedroom previously; the main unit is designed to service that room. Maybe the record hot spell tested the system but in any case we’ll get it checked by the service guys.

My husband and I stayed at Boroka Downs for our honeymoon. It was the most relaxing and luxurious holiday we have ever experienced. The villa had a very romantic theme, a candlelit spa, double shower, double hammock, a beyond comfortable bed that is impossible to leave, cooking hampers for two and activities for couples included in the honeymoon package - which was more than what we dreamed of. The silence was enchanting with wildlife outside the door every day. We have decided to make this our yearly anniversary stay :-)

This was as top notch accomodations as you'll find anywhere, which was even more surprising to us being within a National Park (don't even know what to compare it to in the US, where we're from). Our unit (same as the other 5 one bedrooms) was huge, and as top class as you can be. The place had everything you could imagine. WIFI, tv/dvd/surround sound, whirlpool bath, grill, full kitchen, binonculars, star maps, discounts for local attractions, free use of golf clubs, free use of mountain bikes, free picking from the organic garden.....and I could go on. Too bad there is so much to do all around, didn't even have enough time to enjoy it all! Plenty of kangaroos, wallabees and emus walking around the grounds, was just perfect. Bob and Stephanie were kind, gracious and really made our stay special. They even offer to bring a dinner for you to cook. We got a couple of grass fed steaks with plent of vegetabes to grill, organic salad and a bottle of wine. Was an extremely cheap and absolutely delicious meal. I would highly recommend Boroka Downs not only if you are near the Grampians, but if you are anywhere near that part of Australia. Trust me, it is worth driving there.

This is one experience where words can't do it justice. The Grampions are so unique and Boroka Downs can't be beat. We stayed 3 days and had complete privacy to wake in the morning and look out at beautiful mountains with kangaroos and emus in the foreground. The setup at Boroka Downs makes you feel you are visiting in the animals home territory rather than vice-versa. The property has it's own walking trails and it is a 3 minute drive to the town of Halls Gap. The cottages are so well-equipped down to the last details including back packs, maps, a round spa for two separate from a wonderful shower. There are wonderful trails and drives throughout the area where you can see more animals, particularly at dusk. We would love to go back to the Grampions and would only stay at Boroka Downs, the best eco-lodge ever!

We went in January this year and stayed in the 2 roomed cottage as we had the Mother in Law with us. We never stayed in such a well equipped cottage. Enjoyed the spa with roos looking on. Lots of excellent walks close by.

The hosts, Bob and Steph, were really good and arranged a nature walk with a local expert.

Considering it was all a bit last minute (Flinders Ranges a bit hot!) we could not have asked for more. In fact we are going back at Easter.

We spent 3 nights at Boroka Downs and we very impressed with the accomodation and the service from our hosts Bob & Stephanie. The well appointed villas are beautifully set out and the private outlook really tops off the experience. There was abundant information about the local area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definately return again when in the area.

I had high expectations because of the cost and this is one of those very memorable, unique places where you get what you pay for and it made the holiday. A couples retreat ideal for romance, wildlife and walking. The staff are everything you could want and laid back with. Every little detail as been thought of from maps and torches to scented candles and fluffy gowns. Nothing beats taking a jacuzzi bath looking through the glass wall to kangaroos outside you bungalow or watching the sunset and the amazing stars come out. Very private.

Room Tip: No need, only 5 bungalows and all have views to die for
