Wonderful stay in Redgum Log Cottage, loved the outlook with the mountains, bush and animal & birdlife. The log fire chased away the cold and we had every convenience we needed. Would love to return sometime to do more of the walks as we had some rain, but that was a good excuse to do some winery visits!

we recently, took our friends to the grampians cottages.
i had been to the grampians, several times, in the past 20 years , stopping at the cottages during the past 9 year. we first spotted the cottages, from the wildlife park, and made enquiries, and decided to stop there. my mum being sick at the time found stopping at the stone cottage, with it's disabled facilities, a magical experience.
we have now stopped in all 4 of the cottages, some of them twice, the redgum being our favorite, we have had birthdays and special occasions there,
robert the owner, has always been very welcoming, to us, on all the times we have been there.
the recent addition of the serenity walk, which includes a meditation area, pinic area and hamocks, for the grandkids to swing in is a delight.
we would recomend that anybody would have an enjoyable stay here, it is a magical place !

We stayed for 3 nights with friends in the red brick cottage. The cottages are located in a beautiful rural setting with views of the surrounding mountains. Very conveniently located just outside the main Grampians town of Halls Gap. Many hours just spent gazing at the scenery from the cottage balcony with kangaroos, sheep, birds and emus for company! Everything you need to self-cater is available including a great BBQ area. There's nothing like sharing this sort of holiday with good friends. Our host Greg, was friendly and informative as well. The Grampians are magnificent! We did as many walks as we could (given the recent bush-fires in the area) and visited the surrounding townships to enjoy the history and architecture. A visit to Best's Winery in Great Western was also very enjoyable.

We stayed for three nights in the Red Gum Log Cabin. We needed some time out of our travelling and touring schedule to rest, relax and recharge our batteries. This accommodation filled the bill perfectly. In the daytime, you have a lovely view of the woods and the mountains. There is an open field in front of this cabin which slopes down to an area where kangaroos and rabbits come to feed in the afternoon and evening. We watched cockatoos, lorikeets and other wonderful birds flying by. We found it wonderfully peaceful and serene here.
The cabin itself is rustic with all the mod cons. We found our cabin clean. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking your own meals. The furniture is in a rustic style and very comfortable and functional. There is a lovely stone fireplace in the living room that Robert had laid out for us. It was too warm while we were there but it would have been wonderful to have a fire if the evenings had been cool. The bathroom is basic but clean and includes a washing machine. A red brick patio at the front of the cabin was where we ended our days taking in the gorgeous surroundings. This is the place to come to rest and relax. It's a little bit of paradise.
