“Secluded getaway in the heart of Hall's Gap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

We stayed two nights in a luxury water villa. Really expansive and luxurious villas with a great spa and little creek running through the middle of the room. A little pricey but you pay for exclusivity and space with only 7 villas on a huge 8 acre property. There's nobody at reception but that didn't matter as any minor issues were dealt with via a phone call to Max. My only suggestion is that, during the winter months, you take your own dooner. There's an electric blanket on the king bed but it doesn't beat a dooner. Really really nice if your looking for a relaxing escape.

Room Tip: Water Villas are more secluded than the standard

Very poor service, very over rated and over priced, descripton and pictures are very deceiving, to what you get. There is no one on site, advertise that there is kindling and fire lighters available but were no where to be found, we went and purchased our own, floors where sticky and dirty with bits of broken egg shell on the floor. Went to make breakfast the next morning only to find one plate on the cupboard shelf when investergated further the dishwasher was full if DIRTY dishes from the pervious people, not sure how long they had been there. At least we had clean sheets and towels.

We stayed here in februay 2010. It was our second stay, as we have been here in 2006 also. Very friendly owner, who makes a perfect breakfast in the morning. The villas are a one room spacious studio with sitting area, kitchen area, bedroom area with king size bed and spa. Separate bathroom with shower and toilet. No internet in the villa, it seems to be available in the main house but I didn’t try this. The environment is really beautiful and above all very quiet. A perfect location to stay.

The shower was dirty (yuk) and there were lots of cobwebs in the room- not what you expect when paying $390 per night for a 'luxury' accommodation. The spa was the best thing in the place- pretty special, but not worth the price or having to deal with the grumpy unhelpful host Irene.

All hotels can have problems with house-keeping from time-to-time, cleaners are only human after all, and it is particularly challenging when a property is located within a few metres of National Park Forest - not all of our local creatures are cute and cuddly :)

If and when we receive a complaint we act to rectify it to the guest's satisfaction without delay - but if we are not made aware of any problem then there is not much that we can do about it after the event.

We have no record of any complaint ofthis nature being received during January 2010.

Our promise is that any complaints that we do receive will be dealt with promptly in a friendly, courteous and cheerful manner.

The comment about grumpiness is a mystery to us!

The quality of the accomodation was excellent. The food was also of the best. The room had everything we needed including a cooker, washing machine, fridge and spa bath. Breakfast was included and more than enough to eat. Dinner (provided most nights) was superb and included some excellent local produce. The villas are set in the countryside and kangaroos hop past the windows as you lie in bed. A real gem of a place just minutes from Halls Gap but far enough away to be quiet.
