“Memorable Visit”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

We will always remember this tea shop and cafe. Good old fashioned country service and wholesome food. Scones, jam, cream, pikelets - we ate our way to Beechworth after visiting here.
Genuine old china tea cups added a touch to the good tucker. But what really topped it off was sitting outside listening to such amazing country music that it made you feel like singing along. This really is the spirit of Australia, and we are impressed that the cafe owners represent it. I even asked if they had the CD and guess what? Sure they did so off we went with a full tummy, a song in our hearts and the CD.

“Old style food”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

Stopped here for a quick lunch and had soup and damper, home made, and it was great. The lady that served was like the mother you had at home. Spoke to every person the same and made sure you were happy. Food was great and huge serves. Toilets need to be kept cleaner though.

“Wonderful cream tea”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

We popped into this little tea shop for a lovely cuppa tea and we weren't disappointed!
The lady offered us scones, jam and cream for just a little extra and they were delicious. Th tea came, freshly brewed in a pot, loose leaf tea with a strainer, and fresh milk. All served on a tray with china cups and saucers. A perfect refreshment aftyer a day's drive along The Alpine Way

“Detour off the Hume for brunch”
Reviewed March 9, 2014 via mobile

On the way back from Falls Creek via the snow road skip past the freeway and turn left at the T junction. From there it's only about 7 km to Glenrowan. "The big breakfast" is an Aussie Classic and really hits the spot for 2nd breakfast/brunch. Scones are generous and went done well. Macca would be right at home.

“A beautiful place to stop for rest”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

When travelling both ways from Sydney to Melbourne I always make sure to stop in for something to eat. The service is lovely and everyone is super friendly and the food is amazing. My favourites are the pikelets and the damper. The serves are more than generous and I always get excited even just thinking about them! It's so lovely to sit outside and sit in the sunshine and relax and enjoy some tea brewed the old fashioned way. Already looking forward to the next time I stop there!
