A beautiful gateway to the Peninsula. Could spend all DAY walking along Frankston beach and it's surrounds. Would not recommend doing it at night though. If you need a bite to eat, there is Sofia's restaurant just near the pier. A very affordable and delicious place to refuel.

“Very pretty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Close proximity to great shops. You can relax on the beach, take a stroll or sit down and enjoy a nice cold drink at the kiosk. It's quiet, the water is calm so great to take the kids. Only problem is that I am from Queensland, so even in October I thought the water was FREEZING.I went in ankle deep and that was enough for me. Beautiful place to visit, but if Frankston would like to develop as a tourist destination, sports equipment and kayak hire would be a plus. It looks like a wonderful place to kayak around the bay.

“Great for a stroll after a meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

A very nice beach setup including properly constructed walkways and boardwalk. Long pier (seemingly recent construction) also very appealing. Shops and hotels/clubs nearby. We had lunch at Waves on the Beach restaurant located brilliantly right on the foreshore overlooking Port Phillip Bay. Do yourself a favour and take in both the restaurant experience then a walk afterwards.

“I'm a local”

I go to Frankston Beach mostly to visit Sofia Restaurant or to walk along the board walk and pier. The view from up Oliver's Hill is best as you can see across the bay to Melbourne City.

“Stunning beach!!!”

The beach is kept very clean and apart from during peak times in summer, its not too busy ... Great place to visit and go shop afterwards!
