Probably the best bakery outside of Beechworth! You can eat in, you can takeaway. What more can I say?

“Best of the best when up in the Dandenongs”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

I am a regular to this bakery though Emerald may seem a long way to get some bread and pastries, but its worth the journey for the amazing selection and quality goods. Scones, Vanilla Slice, Pies, Pasties, Pizzas, Cakes... Its a really old-school bakery and is great quality with reasonable prices. Recently renovated interior looks great and adds a cafe-like mood to the bakery, Love the coffees, my partner and I always make a stop when we're up in the hills.
Their scones also beat Miss Marple's in Sassafras. You can also see Puffing Billy's stop just down the road from the bakery and would be great for kids.

“a paradise in the middle of the puffing billy, country”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Yes it is a fantastic place , after I have been three mornings breackfast, i can said it is a good place to hang for a morning breakfast or a lunch or an afternoon tea.
big room, with wooden seat, and leather couch, a counter for take away coffee and another one for ilk shake a section for hot breakfast, fresh bread, pies and quiches, and creamy cakes, all aroung it is a paradise of cookies and fresh baked cakes, large white and dark chocolat cookies and orange and poppy seed cakes,, all fresh baked in house. The coffee is good, and the rest is superbe, that is a place to spend your Saturday or Sunday morning for breakfast or lunch or just a piece of cake and coffeee in a afternoon. The staff is lovely and smally.

“Famous for a reason”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

We were told this bakery is almost worldwide famous. We didn't believe it but I must agree you MUST visit this bakery. We visited 4 times in our 3 nights stay in Emerald why??? simply because the variety is huge there and seating is comfortable. We highly recommend the vanilla slice (YUMMMM) and the Caesar Salads.

Just be prepared there are a few staff who have not yet learnt how to smile... but it isn't something that matters much to us. So we give this bakery 5 stars and highly recommend you drop in even if you are just passing by.
