We haven't been to this area for over 30years and decided to take our Scottish friends who loved the lakes and the puffing Billy train ride.

Great place to spend time for families with kids! Especially in hot summer day! Good walking path around the lake. You can do fishing there with catching real fish! Nice to use Puffing Bully train to visit the place.

Emerald Lake Park is nestled in the Dandenong ranges and is one of the stops for Puffing Billy.
The park caters for the active through its multiple walking trails and paddle boat hire and there is also a small bathing pool.
For less active visitors the park has many shadey picnic spots. Throughout the park there are various food outlets and public toilets. A special feature is the model railway display.
During February there a several free music concerts.

If you happen to be travelling with Puffing Billy or gone for a drive out of Melbourne then Emerald Lake is the place to be. It has lots of BBQ facilities that families or anyone can use and lots of places to relax for a couple hours while taking in the scenery. It also has walking tracks if you want to check out to get some exercise otherwise nice place to relax.

Great place to enjoy clean fresh air with plenty of walking tracks. Grassed areas to lay a blanket and just plain sit or lay down and enjoy the tranquillity. Swimming in the lake pool area or water pedal bikes on hire. Reasonable cafeteria on site. On the way back stop at the Emerald bakery for some great local pies.
