“Fantastic food authentic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2014

We visited the Old Bakery and Wild Plum Cafe in Dunkeld during our 3 night stay. What a great place. The food was all freshly cooked and delicious using local ingredients. The French couple running the Cafe have done a great job. The service was first class and the food authentic. Would recommend you make a visit

“Lovely little homely cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

This place is worth the 100m detour of the main road. Full of character and lovely food. We ate here for every breakfast of our stay in Dunkeld before heading off into the Grampians. The sourdough bread is home cooked and was gorgeous. The tea and coffee were both very good. Definitely recommend

“Super back street find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

Arrived at 4pm for very late lunch, had a pie and a tart each with yummy salad and chutney. Then to die for chocolate brownie. All was excellent, delicious. We will be back for sure to try the breakfast and coffee. Great find.

“Homely and delicious”

Lovely coffee, atmosphere and great sourdough bread! A very nice discovery a couple of blocks away from the main highway. Even the bikies outside were friendly.

“Fabulous French Toast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013

We enjoyed two breakfasts here while exploring the Grampians. Aside from the staff being confused by Americans ordering a side of bacon to go with the amazing French toast with fruit and yogurt (the cook came out to verify what the waitress had written), everything was delicious. I preferred the French toast I ordered on my first visit to the egg dish I ordered on my second, but all was good. The freshly baked breads were delicious. This business is a few blocks off the main road through town, so it's likely to be missed by all but locals and people who, like my husband and me, receive a tip from a local. Or folks smart enough to check Trip Advisor before they dine.

I noticed that the business is for sale and hope it stays open and serving delicious food for years to come.
