Visited the Hare Inn on the way back from a trip to Whitby, what superb food, beautifully presented and divine taste I had the Halibut with Cray Fish, Crab and Mussels and the dessert I shared with my sister was exquiste a feast for the eyes, staff very friendly - thank you Liz for letting us taste the chef's new ganache look forward to returning again even with an hour plus journey time - menu states exactly was would be appearing on the plates - if there was something quirky Liz is happy to explain

We visited this Inn on our way back from Whitby. What a hidden gem.. The food was fantastic and the place had such a cosy atmosphere. The puddings all sounded lovely and the one we chose was an art form in itself. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning for another meal in the very near future.

A warm welcome from the landlady for sunday lunch.
The food was good,a little on the expensive side though i thought, but tasty and well presented..
Would of liked to of seen some greens in the veg selection,
First class real ale from the Rudgate Brewery.
Recently reopened and i feel that its still being revamped a little more love is needed in some of the restaurant and bar area.details
Will certainly pop in again when passing

A lovely quaint looking village pub, beautifully presented food which was delicious too, and relaxed but efficient service - we loved the plates of imaginative and sometimes quirky food, just a little more explanation on the menu would have been appreciated, as in some cases we truly didnt know what we were eating! Only one quibble, I do love my bread and to offer one sort, on our visit this was chilli and lemon, packed with very hot chillis, was just not ok. Half our party couldnt eat it and on an a la carte menu with accompanying a la carte prices, I expect bread, in fact good bread to eat with or before my meal..

that being said, we wouldnt let it put us off returning for a second visit!

We were very impressed with our Sunday lunch. We had read the reviews and looked forward to our visit. Upon our arrival we were sat in the bar area while we had drinks and browsed the menu - all of the choices sounded delicious and it was difficult to choose. Once seated the service was very good and the food was perfect. The waiter / chef did cater well for the young children we had with us, but I do feel that it was a more venue suitable for adult diners. We shall definately return and highly recommend a visit.
