On our morning walk, my husband took me to Lower Deck to stop for a coffee. Hidden in the rear of an aging shop strip is a vibrant welcoming gem.
Exposed brick walls adorned with stainless steel herb pots, polished timber benches, mirrors and chandelier welcomes you as you pour over a menu of culinary choices.
The owners have taken the time to invest in the interior design of this place to create a warm and modern atmosphere. Something desperately needed in the area.
Taking in the surroundings we treated ourselves to a light meal. If anyone likes a cooked breakfast, try the Vego Breakie. Poached egg on a bed of panfried thyme mushrooms, spinach, cherry tomatoes and marinated feta, served on toasted sourdough. Amazing wake up for the taste buds. The coffee is superb and the service is to match. Water and smiles are free.
By 10.30am the cafe was full to the brim with diners, so if youre looking for brunch get in early. If you don't mind the fresh air, the cafe also offers an outdoor dining area to accommodate the rush.
Bill was very reasonable. Truly worth the money spent and we will DEFINATELY become regular customers.
