Owner description: See firsthand how some of Australia's finest natural fiber products are made on a guided tour of the historic Creswick Woollen Mills. Meet and feed resident alpacas, and then follow the journey of yarn, from shearing through processing and weaving into luxurious products prized throughout the country. It’s a great way to appreciate Australian-made craftsmanship and makes an easy excursion from Ballarat or Daylesford. Choose from four daily tour times and make your way to Creswick Woollen Mills, located about 75 miles (120 km) from Melbourne or only a quick 20-minute drive from either Daylesford or Ballarat. Tours are 11am, 12noon, 1pm & 2pm daily. Our new cafe has recently opened with a selection of food and refreshing drinks that are locally sourced and produced. The tour is $15 per adult (includes up to three children free) and the entry fee is redeemable as a $15 discount on purchases over $50. $10 per senior or pre-arranged tour over 8 people. Entry fee is redeemable as a $10 discount on purchases over $40. The rest of the Mill’s attractions are free entry! We also offer free entry to the Mill’s A Very Fine Yarn interactive exhibit when you show your RACV card. I recently dropped into the Creswick Mill again to find a new Tourism Experience. I arrived just on time for a guided tour at 2pm. The staff had the Alpacas on hand to welcome our family. We entered the new Tourism attraction to find an array of amazing slideshows and videos describing natural fibres. A great addition to a visit to Daylesford.

We loved visiting the shop at Creswick and bought an alpaca blanket and two firm alpaca pillows... they are doing a great job and seem superior to all other attempts to get a good neck support. Love the socks that came as a gift that we then found the Daylesford shop and bought another three pairs... alpaca socks are great too. Nice to sit and just look too!

Friendly service, awesome products, and great bargains.

Recommend the Alpaca wool products. Wears and breathes very well, no sweating. no smell.

Products make great gifts at reasonable prices. Stocked up on gifts on last visit.

Woolen Mill is definately worth a visit, this was my second visit whilst on weekend getaways in that region.

Apparently outlets around inner melbourne areas as well.

The product quality is outstanding. Having said that it is not an 'el cheapo' outlet and most of the products are well out of my budget, however from time-to-time there are really great bargains so I often pick up something that is great quality at an affordable price (for me!). It is my first stop for wedding gifts. The staff are welcoming and pleasant and it is just an interesting place to visit - particularly if you love textiles!!

The quality and variety of wool products were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful an it was fascinating to learn the process of how wool goes from sheep to clothing or other uses.
