“Keeping up the standards”
Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

We visit family in Melbourne on a regular basis and this suburban restaurant is always a must visit for us. Duck is as good as any we have tried and best to order when making booking to either early (6pm) or later session at 8. We normally forgo the follow up noodles and soup and head for some of the other delicious menu items. Can recommend the General Tso chicken or the Chilli prawns with soy and vinegar depending on your personal tastes.Decor and setting is typical suburban chinese but with great food and easy parking.Bottle shop 25 metres if BYO supplies needed.

“Spelling incorrect but food delicious”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Amazing to find a little specialist restaurant like this in such an unassuming shopping centre. A light filled pleasant space, with friendly and efficient service. Excellent Peking duck. It all made for a very good lunch. We'll definitely be back.

“Best peking duck in melbourne, worth the drive”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Simon's peking duck restaurant offers the best peking duck in melbourne. for $55 you can get a whole duck which can be easily shared by 3. You get peking duck and then noodles and soup, all for that price so it's really worth it. The duck is extremely crispy and the sauce extremely delicious so you definitely won't be disappointed. Location wise - a little far from the city ~ 30 mins drive but definitely worth the visit. Be sure to make reservations early enough to avoid a long wait!

“Simply THE Best!”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

The succulent pieces of duck with crispy skin wrapped in crepe is incredible! Other dishes to go with this - stir fried bean sprouts and hor fun. An unforgettable dining experience for the stomach.

The place is a little cramped and you must make a reservation.

“Perhaps the best peking duck and at the best price”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

The duck is ridiculously good and at this price it cannot be beaten - the skin is super crisp yet the flesh succulent. It's busy - it's noisy - it's full of Asian people which is always a great sign for an Asian restaurant. Option 1 is $55 per duck (not per person - per duck!). For that you get 15 pieces of peking duck then stir fried duck with bean shoots followed by a delicious duck bone soup. (Was that Chinese 5 spice I got a hint of?) It's a bargain - in fact it is hard to believe how cheap it is for how good it is. Ignore that you have to bring your own glasses for byo - that isn't true. Service is quick and Simon is passionate about his duck and it shows. Be aware that they don't take credit cards/EFTPOS - it is cash only. If you don't like this place I have to wonder about you.
