We had a fantastic time at the Trees Adventures in Belgrave on a Friday afternoon. Outside of school holidays and weekends is a great time to visit if you can, but as the sessions are booked and time limited, it never felt crowded even when there were some high school student groups around. It is quite a drive from Melbourne CBD, well over an hour. Location is about a 10 min walk from the Belgrave Station where Puffing Billy runs. Carparking is limited, and the access road is steep and single lane to the Glen Harrow property. The walking track to the start is quite steep, and the toilets are in the car park, again a walk from the start of the course.

My boys aged 10 and 11 had a ball on the blue and red courses. We didn't have time to do the black course, and I wasn't sure how my younger son would go at this level. You receive a safety course to learn how to use the abseiling gear, which is so that you stay connected to a guide rope at all times. It took a while for us to get used to the locking on and off system which you do at the transfer stations on the tree platforms between the activities. The instructors were really helpful, very safety focused and I felt that we could do all the activities unguided.

There is a limited green course for kids 5 - 9 yrs old and the older courses are for 10+years. My boys loved the blue and red levels, and could have stayed another hour, but the 2 hour session is a good time length as you do get tired and sore muscles. You basically climb up to a tree platform and then there are a variety of rope and wood structures strung between trees for you to climb along to get to the next tree. Each course has at least 1 flying fox, some up to 15m high, these are so much fun!

The cost is $39 per adult, $33 for concession/kids 10-17yrs and $25 for kids 5-9yrs on the green course. You need to book on-line to guarantee a place, as they do book out at popular times. You can book out picnic areas for birthday parties etc, otherwise there is water/chocolate available for purchase from the shop. Highly recommended for families with teenagers/uni students and active people who don't mind heights.

Great way to spend day off for both visitors and locals! Located only minutes away from Belgrave train station, with free parking for those who driving. Short briefing before the start, 3 levels to choose from blue for the kids to black for those who likes extreme challenge. We went for the black one, personally the net at the beginning was the hardest, a lot of effort for arm muscles. Flying foxes were awesome, a bit freaky for those who has altitude issues, I had to push my bf to get through the first one but then he was alright afterwards. Whole adventure lasts for 2 hours but make sure you come before 3 PM as its the last departure time. Don't forget to wear full covered shoes with comfortable sole and better to cover shoulders too. I only wouldn't recommend it for totally untrained people or someone with any physical conditions, otherwise it's absolutely great!

Trees adventure is tucked away a few minutes walk from Puffing Billy. A fantastic setup of easy to difficult ropes courses through the trees. My 7 year old loved it (he is a little monkey). There are plenty of adult courses that people were really enjoying but I stayed on the easier courses with my son. A great addition to a day trip to Puffing Billy, or just an adventure on its own.
It is a little difficult to find, so bring a good map as the signs don't really exist :)

What a great day out! Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hours climbing through the trees and for those of us that were game enjoyed the challenge of the long black course. Staff were great, explained how everything worked & always close by to give you a hand if you got stuck. Facilities are great, I would thoroughly recommend hiring one of the rotunda's and taking a picnic lunch & make a really enjoyable day of it. Courses range from beginners to advanced and even adults can enjoy the kiddies course if you are a little unsure lol.

A fantastic 2 Hours. The staff were great and were there to show you the safety measures and how to lock in, but you were then on your own to do as hard or as easyas you wanted. It is fun for all ages from Kids to Rambo types who want to push themselves mentally and physically. No experience is needed and the only weight limitation is you have to be under 130kg. Spectators are free and there is shelter and seating to rest before continuing. Food and drink can be taken in. Bookings are needed on weekends. Pushed myself a bit hard and am physically drained. Will recover thou. Highly recomended.
