“Family Friendly, Entertaining and would recommend to anyone”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Our family of 5 recently had the pleasure of staying at Beechworth Holiday Park along with friends with their 2 kids. We stayed in a tent on one of the powered sites and it was everything we could ask for, nice and flat, shady and right next to a well equiped camp kitchen and playground which was fantastic for our kids. We found the amenities were clean and well kept, they even had a bath, which is great for families with small children who don't like showers. The park owners Kim and Brett are great hosts and were very helpful and accomodating. The kids loved riding on their bikes around the park and meeting lots of other kids staying there and also panning for gold in the little creek was lots of fun. There was a family of 3 koalas in the tree, which kept us all captivated. We were also lucky enough to be treated to entertainment by 'Lazy Harry' who had us all up dancing/singing away to some great aussie classics. There is a lovely bush walk into the Beechworth from the park as well. The only downside is that we only stayed for 2 nights, we will definitely make it a longer stay next time.

We spent 5 nights on a powered site and we had a great time. Our portable BBQ was not working but there was a fully equipt camp kitchen available. They had a huge BBQ a stove a microwave and running hot water so could wash our dishes and they also had fridges to store our food and they also had a pizza oven and a projection tv dvd that we could watch movies on .Brett and Kym are wonderful .They were so kind and helpful. They have a great swimming pool that is icy cold even when it is over 35 degrees .The kids had so much fun on the buggies that we hired from the kiosk. It is so close to town so we could walk or ride our bikes to town easily. Also there is so much wildlife around to see eg koalas echidnas gekos etc .They also have a little creek down the back of the holiday park that the kids tried panning for gold. We had such a great time that we can not wait to come back

We (3 people) spent 9 nights in one of the kelly cabins. I was a bit surprised there wasn't an oven but we used the hooded barbecue which worked out ok. The barbecue had lots of cobwebs and grease over the outside - didn't look like it had been cleaned for a long time. The hot plate I guess was ok but it left a black residue on the food. The whole cabin had a slight tilt to the rear, there were lots of cobwebs on the ceiling and in the corners and the outside verandah, dust on bathroom floor and single mattresses were very soft. They did supply plenty of towels and blankets for our stay which was good.
The worst part of our stay here was when my husband asked for some more rolls of toilet paper and we were told that we had used too much. The lady reluctantly gave my husband another two rolls and told him he would have to buy them if he needed anymore.

We were very impressed with this park and found the owners to be helpful and accommodating upon our arrival and during our stay.
This was our last stop after making our way from Hotels / Motels in various places right through from Merimbula through to Beechworth, it was by far the most cost effective and welcoming.
We were so happy after an hour or two of arrival that we decided to stay an additional night.
We stayed in the "Miners Cabin" which for myself, my partner and our 3yo was perfect.

The park is in a beautiful part of Beechworth close enough to town and the local must sees etc which was handy after long days out and about..We spent a fair amount of time in the pool which is kept in good condition and has a family friendly feel about it.

We enjoyed having meals and cooking out down near the creek in the large communal outdoor type BBQ / living / kitchen area which has been set up as an amazing little spot.
Being close to the pool and playground was a great position and the best value for money we found in the area.

In regards to the room itself, it was not perfect but for the price we were paying we dont expect perfection and it actually exceeded our expectations.
Our main concern being the persistance from our young girl to sleep in the top bunk - which has no railing or protection from falling, we may have slept better if there was one in place.
We had an ensuite inclusive in our room which was reasonably updated and clean upon arrival.

Overall, we will be back time again to this location and found a immense appreciation for the town of Beechworth and all it has to offer.

This was very convenient for us as we had a dog with us however sadly the dogs were better behaved than the people.
We were in a cramped powered site surrounded by tents of loud, obnoxious families. When we asked if we could move to a site further away from the noise the man was extremely rude and short with us and told us this is what all caravan parks are like. (As we've traveled around the country in caravan parks I can tell you this is not the case.)
The sites were not grassed but made of gravel which made putting a tent up next to the caravan quite uncomfortable.
The toilets were in an appalling state of poor cleanliness. There was however a lovely solar heated pool ..which was surrounded by broken pool furniture.
This caravan park is the only one in beechworth which takes pets so was appealing to us for this reason however I wouldn't recommend it to other travellers. It is in the scrub which would make it a lot of fun for kids, however the cleanliness and customer service left a lot to be desired.

Booked on wotif the Tree House which is a large family house for 11 people. The trouble was communication- the website says bring your own linen which we did but no blankets were supplied( linen=sheets and towels not bedding). The windows were beyond filthy - I am talking covered in years of cob webs and mould). The house was big however and warm with electric and wood heating. Nice big deck but it is also dirty.
For the price of $240 dollars a night we would have been better off getting two motel rooms in town in clean conditions and better customer service.
The man was rude to us about me pointing out that linen is sheets not bedding and when he wouldn't try and organise some blankets I pointed of the extremely dirty windows( and Many of them) so he came ove to have another go at us.
I think he would be ok with campers and caravans as he is friendly enough but just has no clue about standards of cleanliness even a back packers would be expected to have.

Room Tip: camping should be fine- avoid the on site accomodation
