We stayed here en route from Melbourne to Canberra at the recommendation of friends.
The motel is ideal with a fair price, pleasant rooms and friendly owners.
It's a twenty minute walk into a great little town well worth a visit.
I would happily recommend this motel to anyone.

We stay here every visit to Beechworth. Located at the end of Beechworth heading to Yackandandah the complex comprises of motel rooms with views to the gorge and spa cabins.
Situated amongst gums and paddocks with horses, rabbits, one can sit on the verandah and enjoy nature, the sun set over the gorge and the peace of it all. Bill and Ann, owners, are so helpful and welcoming it is always like coming back to see friends. There is a pool for those hot summer days....a welcom relief and fun ....for winter/summer the rooms are airconed. There is a BBQ as well. Highly recommend for value, location and comfort.

Room Tip: I alway book the cabin near the pool with a lovely view to the gorge from a huge verandah.

I never write reviews, but I feel I need to write one here about the Golden Heritage. We arrived about 6.00pm after a long drive from Melbourne, check in was quick and easy. We stayed in a Queen Room over looking the car park, for a fully booked hotel on a main road we didn't really hear any noises, the whole stay was very peaceful. Could not complain about the room, was very modern and spacious with a comfy bed and a couch, even a fridge!!!! Our bed was made every day which was great to come home to after a long day. We really felt like we were on holiday there. Didn't get to speak to Anne, but her emails leading up to the holiday were always very polite. Bill at reception was fantastic and was so lovely. We had a great 3 night stay and when we do go back to Beechworth (hopefully sooner rather than later) we will most certainly be staying here again. It was a perfect visit and we loved every moment of our stay. Sad to be home.

Room Tip: We had the Queen Room, fantastic.

We went to Beechworth to do a sleepover at the Mental Asylum on a Friday night. We needed to stay somewhere on the Saturday as we had been up all night and checkin was at 2pm. The owners knowing this, went out of their way to have our room ready for us by 11.30am. I am very fussy when it comes to motels, but these rooms were beautiful. Very clean, very spacious and very modern. The only downside as another reviewer wrote, was the high pitch whistle when other guests were having a shower late at night. But it didn't last long. The owners were very nice and friendly. This will be our place of choice when staying at Beechworth and I have no heistation in recommending the Golden Heritage to other travellers.

Room Tip: We had a king size room which had a balcony and a little 2 seater table which had a beautiful view...

I chose to stay at the this motel based entirely on trip advisor reviews and i wasnt disappointed.
We booked a king room which faced onto the open land at the rear of the property. It was nice to sit out on the verandah in the morning and evenings watching the animals do their thing.

The room was large, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean.

My only criticism was that the building's plumbing is in need of attention. On our second night i was awoken and kept awake until midnight by the loud high pitched screaching of the pipes while a neighbour used the water.

Room Tip: Choose a king room that faces towards open land and away from the carpark and main road. These are a...

There is motel as well as cottages in this complex. We stayed in a cottage. We loved the port on the table when we arrived and the offer by the owner/manager to drive us into town (5 minutes away) if we wanted to have a drink or three. Very comfortable, maybe a little dated. It's a great location, we had breakfast on the verandah watching the rabbits and cockatoos.

Clean, functional and pleasant. A great spot to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a cottage with a view of the bush, rather than the road.
