“Camping at Anglesea”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

This Caravan Park really does have it all covered. The park is well maintained, and the amenities blocks are clean. It is situated on a very family friendly beach, which is less than a 5 minute walk. There are numerous bike tracks around that are safe for children to explore, and even some to challenge the adults. The park is not noisy at night, and the powered sites are very generous in size. We stayed on powered sites overlooking the oval, which was fantastic for the little ones to run around and have some freedom. The jumping pillow kept the children entertained for hours, as did the heated pool. Children can ride around safely within the park and there are organised activities for the children in peak times. Staff are very friendly, even when they are at their busiest and the caravan park shop is well equipped. It is a short stroll into town, where the local IGA is well stocked. There is a great coffee shop in town too. If you feel like a meal out, the Anglesea pub, is a 5 minute walk, with a play area for the children. We have camped at many different caravan parks, and this would have to be one of the best.

The weather ended up being quite lovely and it was a great Melbourne Cup Weekend and with late check out also available, the amenities were all wonderfully clean and the service was great. All of our friends, family & day visitors had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back again real soon !!

I stayed in one of the newer cabins with my two daughters during winter.

The cabin was like a mini house, very well laid out with separate rooms for the parents, kids, and living area. The cabin is situated amongst the tea trees and has a lovely outlook.

Even though it rained most of the weekend, we managed to enjoy a wet session on the bouncy pillow and the beach.

The beach and inlet are right next to the park, though a fair hike from our cabin. The beach isn't the best for swimming, there are rocks, and currents. However for my young girls on low tide, there ways plenty of sand play to be had.

Even though the park is right next to the beach, I couldn't find a toilet nearby when my young ones needed it. Luckily I had my car, however, the nearest found toilets were locked. So we had to drive all the way back to our cabin before we found a loo.

In all our stay was good however one event did spoil it for me. The park has treated pine poles planted vertically at intervals next to the road. They are only about knee high and hard to see when reversing. I assume they are there to stop cars parking on the glass. Despite 'knowing' there was one opposite my car park, I managed to reverse into it. Even though I was going slow, the damage was done. I'm sure the park could achieve what they want by using some other approach which is more obvious to drivers. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have done this especially since the road is narrow and the turn tight.

We went down to Anglesea with the Petrie Park Probus Club and had a great stay at the Park. Sam and Deb were so accommodating and everything we asked for was there in a flash. The park was beautifully maintained. The facilities are first class and there are many walks that will take you into the Anglesea shopping centre, along the river, along the top of the cliffs and down to the beach. The meeting room was ideal for us as we had 53 people in our group and we had the best time on our theme night - fancy dress was the way to go. We will return to this park again, either as a group or individually in our van - but hopefully the weather will be much better. I am sure that if Sam or Deb had any control over that, they would have made it perfect for us too. Thoroughly recommend this park for groups to stay at.

An excellent park to stay and we could even bring our dog! Peaceful and private location and the dog friendly sites were set back away from the hustle and bustle of the main park - which we really liked. The amenities were superb - especially liked the music in the showers!! We can't wait to come back and would definitely recommend :-)

Room Tip: Book early for a dog friendly spot!

Stayed overnight in a three bedroom cottage which was very clean and comfortable with all amenities being of a high quality. A well maintained park which deserves a five star rating and is a credit to the owners. We will stay again if we venture down the Great Ocean Road in the future.

We had a great stay at the Anglesea Beachfront Caravan Park. Kids were entertained with plenty of activities. Jumping Pillow, mini golf and pedal carts all great a favorites. Great access to beach. Cabins are in a beautiful setting. It will certainly be a place to visit again. The short walk to the shops is also worth doing!!
