The positives:
1. Location is good - quite close to Lorne, which I am told is one of the best bathing beaches in the area.
2. Price was decent given the holiday season.
3. Room size is good.
4. Service is good - we asked for some additional microwave-able dishes for the room to cook brekkie for the kid - and we got one delivered. Checkout is smooth and fast.

Things that were not quite right:
1. The cable connection on the TV was out of order, so that meant no TV
2. The room heater/ aircon was out of order
3. The electric blankets were not working (even if it was December, the day we stayed was quite cold - around 14 degrees ... this is VIC right?!)
4. The alarm clock was out of order

From what we were told, the hotel was refurbished 2 weeks back, and was still getting back on its feet.

We liked the idea of staying in rammed earth accommodation but were disappointed to see the natural finish had been painted over and the walls don't seem to be optimally positioned for energy efficiency.

Apart from this, the rooms are quite spacious and comfortable.

There are a few steps between the car park and the rooms which was fine for us.

There is also an outdoor pool.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. We had room 18 near the back, so very quiet. Bed very comfortable, and shower was good.We go to Aireys quite a bit, so will stay here again, maybe use the pool when the weather warms up!

Stayed two nights over Cup weekend. Nothing fancy, decore needs updating but the room was clean, hot water took a good 5 mins to heat up. Price reflected this so no complaints, good location across from aireys pub, walking distance to beach & lighthouse

As we got to the front door we almost walked through a massive cob web like it was there for weeks," once we opened the front door we noticed a 2 inch cockroach/bug on the back wall , the spa had small spiders all over and the shower bottom was covered with mould " so we had no spa or shower that night " not to mention the hair dryer cord was full of mould and at night while we slept ( Yeh we stayed, for every other decent motel was booked, we had no choice ) a cockroach/bug was on my pillow about to crawl into mouth ! Anyway we told the manager in the morning and showed her everything we experienced and her answer was The cleaners aren't doing a good job are they !!!!!!!! Personal advise stay away from this place for health reasons !!
