Fun spot, family-friendly, nice and easy. Got off interstate, had a great meal, fried pies and homemade ice cream for the kids, SAMPLES OF SMOKED MEATS--I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS ANYWHERE. Not a little sample on a toothpick, but a whole rib, as a sample! What? Really good, too. Slow smoked, etc. Gee Whiz, I am moving here. What a deal. Chicken on the bar done the old way, in a pressure cooker (Henny Penny, I am told), so all the moisture is locked in. Wow. If I came by here more often, I would stop more often. Inexpensive, as compared to similar chain fare. This is family owned, and the only one of its kind. Trust me, it is great.

“Great food...poor service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

We stopped for lunch. We enjoyed browsing the store which was fun in itself. Service was slow and confused. We ordered an appetizer that we got midway thru our meal after asking about it. We were charged for 2 beverages and a hot chocolate. We only had one beverage and our server noted the hot chocolate error. We paid for the extra beverage since she charged us for the wrong sandwich. I guess she was just having an off day. And did I mention their mustard? Delicious! Will likely try again!

So sorry for the not so great service. We've got a couple new servers and this weekend was a blow out weekend, so I'm sure that there was some confusion with the new staff. Glad you enjoyed the food. Next time you come up be sure and see _Smokin Man Mike for free samples of our Ribs, Brisket, Chicken hot off the smoker! Really great!

“Homestyle cooking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Great food in a country seating from the general store to the massive fireplace in the dining area. Good breakfast forom a buffet or from the menu as I did each over a coubleof days. Te evening meals were equaly as goo with smoked meats, fried or baked chicken with the best vegatables you will find. Worth the drive and if you go on Friday or Saturday there is free entertainment with songwriters. Tim T

“Super breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

This is the second "Fourth of July" weekend we have stayed in Monteagle and eaten at the Smoke House. We were not disappointed. The breakfast was hot and tasty and you can get sandwiches even at 7 in the morning. The bbq sauces are outstanding, the service was friendly and of course the store is a gem to browse. We will stop again and recommend to others who happen to be passing over the mountain. The TLT (smoked turkey) sandwich was succulent, flavorful and was served with really fresh and crisp hashbrowns.

This is one of the best places to eat and experience. The waitress were all so friendly. the store is worth visiting too. we ordered off the menu and had to take a take home box when we left. I highly recommend this place to eat. On Friday and Saturday nights there is live music be sure to stop and eat here.

Thank you so much for your business here and for the review, we appreciate your comments and I will pass them on to the staff. Did you get to see the _Moonshine Museum or the _CountryMusicMuseum of the _LouvinBrother's? Both of these are in the Old Country Store, just around the corner from the _Fudge and _Fried Pies & _IceCream, all homemade everyday. Come and see us again soon.
