Review of Bald Rock Hotel

Bald Rock Hotel
Ranked #10 of 54 Restaurants in Rozelle
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: $14 - $24
Cuisines: Australian
Description: The Bald Rock Hotel is the oldest continually licensed venue in the Rozelle and Balmain area. If these original sandstone walls could talk, they would tell you of a colourful history of the origins of working class Rozelle and Balmain. These days, the Bald Rock enjoys a reputation for being a family pub with excellent food, live music and friendly bar staff. The perfect spot for a catch-up with friends and family, happy hour drinks with workmates or enjoying a delicious Sunday Roast. We dish up quality pub classics inspired by traditional European cuisine, reflecting the origin of the pub, with a modern twist. Head Chef Ben Palmer, formerly of Bistro Bruno, uses the best of local produce to create a regularly changing menu in an authentic atmosphere. “Off the beaten track!”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

Called in here to catch up with a few friends for lunch on the way to the White Bay cruise terminal. Lots of character, a good range of beers on tap and great food. Ideally situated - get your taxi to drop you off here, have a few before you board then it's only a ten minute stroll along to the cruise terminal to board the ship.

“Good pub lunch”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

This is a rather cute old pub in the historic Balmain/Rozelle area.

We went for lunch and had a main each. The Wednesday Special Grilled Barramundi w/creamy garlic prawns served w/chips & salad $15 and the 300gm Porterhouse Steak with salad and Pepper Sauce $22.

Both dishes were absolutely fine and the chips rather nice.

The bar staff were helpful and friendly.

Will return and maybe give the daily curry special $15 a try.
