The Red Lion Hotel is one of the oldest pubs in Rozelle village, but its best kept secret is the unpretentious Thai restaurant upstairs, which extends to the verandah overlooking Darling Street. Locals eat here because there is a full Thai menu with a few other Asian favourites such as Gado Gado and Singapore Noodles from which to choose as well. Each aromatic dish includes fluffy white rice and is presented beautifully on white crockery with traditional garnishes. All dishes are priced at around only $10 each. The servings are very generous. They also prepare interesting twists on traditional Aussie food such as hamburgers. This is a perfect venue to share with friends and family, but solo travellers wouldn't feel out of place eating alone here. It offers great value for money in a truly local venue. Large group reservations accepted.
