Description: Situated on the shores of Sydney Harbour on Rose Bay, Catalina is a beautiful, airy light-filled restaurant and bar with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors opening out onto a long curved balcony over the water. In keeping with its harbourside location, the menu features beautifully fresh seafood - Sydney Rock oysters shucked to order; house smoked Tasmanian salmon; whole snapper and barramundi, filleted on the premises - but also a wide range of the best meat and poultry Australia has to offer. A fabulous Australian and global wine list (over 600 wines) and welcoming, attentive service, make this restaurant a must-do Sydney dining experience. Come in all day for the full menu - Catalina doesn't close between lunch and dinner - or graze on bar food overlooking the most beautiful harbour in the world.

Breathtaking views over the Harbour, particularly watching as a storm approached. Two minds with the food, entrees were delicious, beautifully presented, Marron, Garlic & Herb Prawns, mouthwatering Scallop dish and California rolls - all a delight to eat, our party certainly enjoyed each one.
The Mains were a little disappointing. The Barramundi dish a little tastless, Wagyu beef very underone, almost raw, rack of lamb quite fatty and then the signature dish of roast suckling pig, very underwhelming. Not particularly well served, and NO crackling, something always expected with roasted suckling pig, and at the price, very disappointing. Top marks for the salad, fries and potato mash, all perfect.

The petit fours were amazing. Every one delicious and a delight to eat.

We found the restaurant incredibly noisy with a full house, acoustically not pleasant particularly if you wanted to chat. We found it difficult to hear one an other. Also the drink service needs attention.

So a mixed day, with some items wonderful, others disappointing.

There is always something about Catalina to like!
Whether it be from the moment you are greeted at the door or from the sense of occasion that dawns when seated and drawing upon the incredible view
The only thing that can and does make the experience even more wonderful is the quality of food and finely balanced wine list.
My compliments to the team at Catalina. Thank you for another truly great evening

The space was beautiful - warm and inviting, especially with the log fire. The service was excellent - friendly and unintrusive. And the meal itself was wonderful - generous portions of superbly cooked food. I've never had such great fish! We were there to celebrate an event, and, without our asking, the chef wrote 'Congratulations' in chocolate on the dessert. Special!

The location is wonderful. Ive eaten at Catalina many times over the years and the quality that one expects is always present. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. Yes some of the dishes are over priced, but not all are under sized, and sadly that is a feature of Sydney but at least you wont be disappointed.
