Description: Situated on the shores of Sydney Harbour on Rose Bay, Catalina is a beautiful, airy light-filled restaurant and bar with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors opening out onto a long curved balcony over the water. In keeping with its harbourside location, the menu features beautifully fresh seafood - Sydney Rock oysters shucked to order; house smoked Tasmanian salmon; whole snapper and barramundi, filleted on the premises - but also a wide range of the best meat and poultry Australia has to offer. A fabulous Australian and global wine list (over 600 wines) and welcoming, attentive service, make this restaurant a must-do Sydney dining experience. Come in all day for the full menu - Catalina doesn't close between lunch and dinner - or graze on bar food overlooking the most beautiful harbour in the world.

The food was excellent and the view is not to be missed. Come at lunch time by ferry from Cicumar Quay.

Visited from Melbourne and went here on a recommendation from friends. It was a pleasant though not "remarkable" experience. We have visited some better and many worse but did expect more for the price we were charged. We were Impressed by the atmosphere and the magnificent vista over the bay. The waiters were polite and helpful. The food was better than average but not "to die for". The wine list is extensive but expensive with an incredible mark up on Cellar door prices. Go if you want a pleasant afternoon or night but don't expect to get any change out of $300!!

Sunday lunch was spectacular, the doors all open the sun glinting on the sea what a setting. Warm wlecome from Tim, David as always helped to make our lunch very memorable. Paul helped us select fantastic wines to compliment the delcious food. The time flew by, we always find it hard to leave.

Our party of 4 dined out last Sunday for lunch at Catalina. to celebrate a 60th birthday.
From the moment we walked in the door, we felt special.
The staff were very attentitive and knowledgeable .
Marty provided us with assistance with the menu and assistant sommelier Andrew from Tassie(my home state) had a great understanding of wine selection.
The food was sensational, the servings generous, contrary to what we had been told and the wines a perfect match for the food ordered.
The view is beautiful.
If you want fantastic food, service and view and don't mind paying for it, you can't go better.
Perfect for a special occasion of fine dining.

Location directly on the water looking across the harbour towards Manly and Taronga is outstanding. Service friendly and professional, food definitely of a certain class with excellent fish options. This does not come cheap, with no main course under $40. Kind of worth it though if you can manage it.
