“Unbelievable experience with first class service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

I'm writing this a little late, but last year my wife and I did this trip and it was just a 5 star experience. We booked the Jonah's Dinner package, which includes a plane ride from Rose Bay to Jonah's at Whale Beach, with a town car ride back (too late to fly back). Although we only got a one way plane ride (vs. round trip), that leg was magnificent, with unbelievable views of Sydney and the water.

The plane was a little late getting in, but no problem as Rose Bay is very beautiful and you can just sit there waiting watching the ocean. Once the plane arrived, we were lucky to find out no one else had booked it and we would get a private ride! Our pilot was very nice and knowledgeable about the area, describing everything we were seeing.

Once we landed, a little boat was already there waiting for us to take us to shore. And once there, a van was already there to take us to Jonah's. Just perfect execution on their part. And Jonah's was fantastic too, which I will write about in a review of them. The town car arrived to take us back at the expected time and the car was very comfortable.

All in all a perfect experience, and well worth the price. Would recommend to anyone looking to celebrate something special.

“"An Wow Experience"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

I was very excited for this ride since it was my first experience to fly on sea plane.
We reached Rose Bay Lyne Park & were divided into groups. There were two sets of plane available which carried our group one after another.
When my groups turn came, we boarded the sea plane & I was lucky to get co-pilot seat hence got good view of entire journey. When the sea plane starts and starts running on the sea, the waves do provide resistance hence you feel like sudden brakes get applied. The speed increases & within few second you are air borne. It is amazing to see that you are using sea as rinaway & then you are in air. The ride was nice which gave view of the city. Also saw Harbour bridge & Opera house from the plane which was a wonderful. After being airnorne for about 10 minutes we returned back to land again on sea. The landing experience was also good & when it touches sea water, the waves act like brakes & then it is like any other boat.
You get lot of opportunity to shoot hence carrying camera/handycam is a must. Sport shoes is a must as you also get opportunity to walk around pathway around the bay. It also has a nice park where you can enjoy small games.
You would require almost 2 to 3 hours for this location depending upon number of people you have in group.

“My favourite tourist option”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

I send all my overseas visitors on the 15 minute scenic flight - takes off in Rose Bay, flies down the harbour and out the heads before turning right and heading South down the coast, off the cliffs, to Bondi Beach, where they turn around and fly back up and through the heads and then up the harbour, past the Opera House and over the harbour bridge and then back over the Opera House and Botanical Gardens and back to land on Rose Bay.

In 15 minutes you get to see the essential iconic Sydney sights, from a wonderful aerial viewpoint.

Especially fun when you see the places that you have already been to see them on foot.

Well worth the money.

“A unique experience.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

When we arrived at the little terminal our group of six were told that we had to join other guests on the large seaplane. We were very disappointed at this as we had specifically asked for the Otter. We explained our request to the Manager Matthew, who after making a number of phone calls told us our seaplane would be made ready straight away. So good to meet someone who is decisive and appreciates a customer. Well done and thank you Matthew. The flight up to n our restaurant was exciting for all, and on landing we docked at the excellent restaurant, and were led to a fabulous table with a perfect view over the creek. The quality of our meal was first class. The time lapse between courses was perhaps too long, but you had three hours before the return flight. As the meal progressed you began to appreciate the 'slow food' concept, and the experience soon became calming and very civilised. We all relaxed and got into the flow, if only we could relax like this in our real worlds! We calmly and elegantly reboarded the Otter, and took off back to Sydney, now feeling very privileged and relaxed.
This is not a cheap excursion. Nevertheless it is good value and turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Sydney.
