“The restaurant has shut down.”
Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant has closed. The website confirmed this. A shame as we enjoyed our last visit very much, and it is rated the best eatery in Petersham. A lot of places are struggling to stay open - even the great ones.

“good french dining option for the inner west”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Visited the restaurant as part of a birthday celebration. Warm and professional front of house team. Personal welcome by head chef/owner (?). Excellent selection of French wines. Balanced and well thought offerings of dumplings with pea and lemon or goat terrine for entrée (terrine was very good). Barramundi, duck or lamb for main course (I had the lamb with sausage and bean accompaniment - tasty but could have used a bit more salt), Desserts were either a chocolate tart, ricotta citrus sponge or affogato ( I chose the tart (like most others) - delicious and not too big). We spied Nathan and Sarah (from 2013 MasterChef professional) as part of the cooking team - that partly explains the good food coming out of the kitchen.

Warm candle lit ambience - I think more suited to evening dining. Easy to park outside. Great to have another French restaurant of good calibre in the inner western suburbs. Definitely worth a visit.

“Wine Makers Dinner - Very Enjoyable”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Have been to this restaurant a number of times in the past but had not been there since they recently changed chef and direction somewhat.

However, attended an Orange Winemakers Dinner there last week and really enjoyed it. The food was good and was prepared by chefs Nathan and Shara from Masterchef Professionals fame and accompanied by some very nice wines. The service provided during the evening was very attentive and as good as we have experienced in the past.

Will be pleased to return to this restaurant for a regular evening service in the near future.

“Wow, great value, fantastic food , fabulous service”

Blancmange is definitely a must

Every time we have visited this restaurant it is like a new experience. The food takes you on a journey of flavours while the mastery of presentation, technique and flavours is amazing. Highly recommend asking the waitress to match your wines to each dish enhancing your gastronomy experience.

The atmosphere is a little dull with the light being very low and can be a bit noisy nonetheless as each dish is presented the background milieu fades away to leave only you and the amazing sensation of flavours as each mouthful presents a new surprise and experience.

Recommend booking as the weekends gets very busy but is a nice treat during the week.

“Great Exprience”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Entree was chicken gibblet and glazed cherries - a wonderful taste combination
Mains were perfectly cooked Hapuku fillet and lamb dishes.
Highly recommend. A very quaint and pretty interior with attentive service.
And a owner/maitre d' that looks like the younger brother of Hugo Weaving.
