Farrell's Basement has what most of Northern Beaches establishments are missing. A intimate, stylish bar space without the usual pub fixtures (pokies, races etc). The place can fit up to 100 people and its very tastefully decorated and can be found a level below ground on the Newport main drag.
We have not eaten there however recently went on a Saturday night for drinks and really enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of seating and a very cool bar make it an easy place to kick back and enjoy the live music which was on at the time.
Drinks are reasonably priced, particularly the specials (we enjoyed $7 Jack and Cokes - Coke was fresh out of a can - you pay more than this at some RSL's) and the cocktails were great.
Food also looked good - will need to try it next time.
If you are on the Beaches and want to try a trendy bar that could easily fit in in some inner City suburbs, give Farrell's a try.
