Description: Ripples Chowder Bay, located in Mosman, is on the Taronga Zoo to Balmoral foreshore walk and offers magnificent views of the famous Clifton Garden's Bay. Its opening marked a momentous occasion, as it was the first time in over 100 years that the general public could enter this historic space, once reserved for secret military operations to defend Sydney Harbour. Featuring a modern Australian menu with European influences, Head Chef Kristian Gamble uses only the freshest seasonal produce to create simple flavoursome dishes. Guests have a good selection of share plates, pasta or more substantial main dishes that reflect the seasons. This fully licensed and BYO waterfront restaurant is open for Breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays and Lunch & Dinner 7 days a week. Perfect for dining with a group, a special celebration or a nice romantic meal for two, Ripples Chowder Bay has become one of the top favourites amongst Mosman, Cremorne and Neutral Bay locals.

Resturant is located at chowder bay, little walk and good few steps from the beach and play area of Clifton gardens. Outside tables have fabulous view, but inside is cool and lovely too. Food is just yummy, try gnocchi or beef or even fish and chips. All so good. Desserts are great but my favourite are the brownies with coffee for a small sweet chocolate hit.
Kids have their own menu which has good choice with soft drink.

We went here for a special birthday treat and the view from the deck is fantastic. Another of Sydney harbours many bays. The staff were very accommodating, especially as we were running a bit late. The food was of good quality and well presented. Very good value, considering the location. My only comment would be that the if dining during the evening the lighting is quite low and the waiter had to give us a small torch to read the menu. Would definitely recommend for that special occasion.

This is Sydney at its best - with daylight saving, we were able to enjoy the views and a wonderful sunset.
The view is stunning - a working harbour and a bonus with a cruiseship leaving the harbour just a few metres away.
We had both the white flight and the red flight and they are described as 3 small portions with a small glass of wine to match but in fact, they are of reasonable entree sizes.
For the price, you would assume a compromise in either quality or portion size but this did not happen.
The food is of the highest quality - the chef, Christian, has been there for years and always delivers a consistently high quality.
Both "flights" had a good balance of food - the red with a quail, pork belly and beef was a good variety and similarly, the white with prawns, swordfish and scallop was balanced and good variety.
This is a better deal for the customer than the restaurant but while they have it, I would accept and say thank you.

This is the place to take visitors to Sydney with the marvelous views over the harbour to the south side and over Chowder Bay. It's hard to get to especially at night but definitely worth it for the views and the harbour side walk.......oh and as a bonus wonderful food good selection of wine, great service and charming building being part of an old navy site. Four of us all had various seafoods, oysters, mussels, prawns, barramundi, swordfish, wonderfully cooked and nicely presented.
Go there for a special dinner or a great outdoor lunch. On a sparkling sunny day.....Sydney at it's best!

Beautiful view, amazing atmosphere and I have never had a bad meal, nor experience here. I love this place, even if it is a little out of the way.
