Owner description: Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

I went to the zoo few times now and all the times, I enjoyed it! I m not a big fan of zoo in general but this one is very good!
I m a bit sad for the gorillas, the tigers and the lions because their space are small. However, it is a nice place to visit! You can see that the animals are healthy and seem to be happy.
We were lucky because few animals were doing their show so it was very funny! I really loved observing them! This is very entertaining!
In addition, the place is clean and easy to go by ferry from Circular Quay. Just bring your own food, your camera and wear comfortable shoes because the zoo is big!

Staying at the zoo as part of the Roar n Snore experience adds a new level to a trip to Taronga Zoo. Getting close to the animals, handling them and feeding some makes this a unique experience. Talking to the keepers and dealing with the Roar n Snore staff is an absolute pleasure. Making this an experience to remember is the staff/keepers number one aim and they certainly deliver. It feels very special to be the only visitors in the zoo after hours and early the next morning. The accommodation is in permanent tents which have the most stunning views of Sydney and the harbour and are very comfortable. We really appreciated the extra level of care shown to our son when he was sick and the changes the staff made to their itinerary to ensure that his experience was still something very special.

A short (but very nice) ferry ride from Circular Quay. The zoo is very nice and easy to cover everything in one day (or half a day). Beautiful views of the harbor from the zoo grounds, too. The food is also good and not overpriced.

Went there on the easter holidays. It was my first trip to Australia and this zoo was without a doubt a must. The zoo includes many exhibitions including Australian characteristic animals such as platypus, kangaroos, koalas and even tasmanian devils. I booked through viator.com the "Wild Australia Experience" which costed me around U$100. The wild Australia experience is a guided tour for a small group limited to 8 people, in which you are guided by a zoo ranger that tells you facts about these Australian animals. During this tour that lasts approximately 2 hours, you visit: kangaroos, koalas, platypuses, wombats and many other ONLY AUSTRALIAN animals. At the end of the tour, you can get a courtesy beverage and some cookies at the bar on the zoo. To reach the zoo you have to grab a ferry on circular quay, you can get nice shots of the skyline, opera house and harbor bridge from the ferry. You can approach koalas but not touch them due to a NSW law :(
