Owner description: Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

We may have chosen the wrong time to go, but alot of exhibitions and paths were closed when we were there. If you have children I'd say go, they would love the animals anyway. Very helpful staff and keen to answer questions by the visitors. We haven't been for 20 years and I don't think we will go another 20.

“Enjoyable visit”
Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

It was my first visit to Taronga zoo. $51.50 per adult, however this included the boat ride to the zoo, entrance and the sky safari, which unfortunately for us wasn't open when we arrived as it was a little windy.
We took the bus (included in ticket) up to the entrance and walked our way through. The zoo is clean and well organised.
Take a bottle of water and sunscreen.

“A zoo within the city”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Went there with a 41c temp but still I enjoyed it! Will definitely go back again to watch the seal show. This is really a must to go when you're in Sydney.

“Lot to see in one day”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Plan a day out for this event as Taronga Zoo is an enormous undertaking. The site is well laid out and sign posted and is well sign posted. A wide range of animals are accessed and are easily assessable with wide paths and open areas. While there visit the open air bird show while the Seal Show is well worth the wait. Food stalls are everywhere but is a little expensive. Try not to go on a windy day as the bird show will not occur and the chair lift will probably also close. Overall a good day out and great for the kids.

Me and my partner were on holiday for a short break from the UK and decided to set off early down to Circular Quay to catch the ferry. It ended up being $51each for the ferry, cable cart and zoo entry which we thought was great value for money!
Going on the ferry itself was exciting enough and didn't take long.
The zoo was quite big but you got a really good map and we saw all the animals and were back on the ferry for about 1:30 which was also good.
We didn't eat there so can't comment on food prices but all in all it was a great day out.
All the animals were feeling not so camera shy and enjoyed posing and having pics taken!
I would have liked to have seen some more spiders/snakes seen as we're in Australia but it was still great.
That's for a super day :)
