Owner description: The Sydney Harbour Kayaks experience is more than just about going on a tour, buying or renting a kayak. Our team is passionate about all paddle sports, passionate about being out on the water and living our dream, to take time - enjoy life. Our passion is infectious. So when you're out on one of our tours kayaking into Middle Harbour, on a Freedom Rental kayaking to Balmoral or in our shop buying a kayak, we're here to guide, instruct and inspire you. Sydney Harbour Kayaks has been renting & selling kayaks, teaching kayaking and guiding tours around Middle Harbour from the Spit Bridge since 1991. Our kayak, surf-ski & stand up paddle board rental fleets are some of the best around, we offer a mix of plastic and composite sea kayaks as well as surf-skis. Our rental location is at the Spit Bridge in Mosman and you can paddle throughout all of Middle Harbour. We take great pride in our kayaking tours and aim to offer the best possible experience. Our backyard is the beautiful Middle Harbour and we get no more enjoyment then showing it off to our many visitors. The kayak tours and team-building activities are a lot of fun and offer a wholesome day out on the water. Lessons are our speciality and we teach from beginners through to a Professional level. If you are just learning about kayaking or stand up paddle boarding then you should try our Paddle Safe / Paddle Smart Program, which are FREE kayaking lessons.

“Saturday morning lessons more of a guide”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2012

Went for one of the 'free' lessons on a Saturday morning recently - no charge for the lesson, $50 per person for hire of kayak for the 3 hour period - great location, we were extremely lucky with the weather, have to remind yourself how close you are to the city..... All the necesary equipment provided

If you have had previous instruction in a kayak (or canoe) then you will get a lot more from this experience - the session is more of a guide rather than a lesson - for someone that isn't a natural, (or shows a shocking lack of co-ordination!) then the suggestion would be to spend the money to get quality time with an instructor in an individual lesson or perhaps as one of two... With 6 in a group it will always be difficult to accommodate the least capable, balancing out their requirements for basic tuition against the desire of other paddlers (and guides) to explore Middle Harbour

Certainly a fantastic location and definitely one to come back to

“Fantastic day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

We recently had the most wonderful time kayaking around Middle Harbour. The tour was extremely well organised and professionally run. Our tour guide, Sol, certainly added to the experience with his excellent knowledge and attention to detail. We now look forward to organising another tour with our extended family.

“Best way to see Sydney”

We are locals but felt like tourists as we saw Sydney from a different perspective. Great fun, lovely guides and a beautiful sunny day made for a wonderful day.

“A Kayak is a great way to see Sydney's middle harbour.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2012

would recommend for people with reasonable fitness. We are over 60 years old and found paddling for 3 hours was a challenge for us. The company is well run and they provided a waterproof camera for only $12. The guide took some good shots of us in the Kayak. Don't park in the council car park across the road - it's a ripoff. Park in side streets over the Spit bridge. We were impressed by the staff and the Kayak was in excellent condition. We were lucky to have a nice sunny day with not much wind. Crossing the channel in middle harbour at midday on a warm Sunday was like crossing Pitt st Sydney - very busy.Bathroom facilities are available before after the 4 hour ECO tour that we did.
We would recommend Sydney Harbour Kayaks.

“Very professional. Great experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2012

These guys know their stuff and are well run. We did the Middle Harbour tour and it was great. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very considerate for those who were not strong paddlers. Lunch was good too, even though we were "forced" to finish off the Tim Tams because they were melting! Highly recommended. My brother does a lot of kayaking and speaks very highly of their shop/sales too. I am looking forward to trying out their Narrabeen location soon.
