“Good choice for Sydney Airport”

Stayed one night at this hotel on 06 March 2012 on business with two work associates. This is very handy to the Domestic Airport and about 15 minutes by bus or taxi from the International terminal. Easy to access with parking underneath the building. The check in staff were friendly and business like. Rooms are spacious, standard queen bed with writing desk and roomy ensuite. There was no free internet connection. In this day and age they need to get this a free inclusion with all guest check-ins, even if it is for just a few MB. There is tea and coffe making with a stcked mini bar. Prices are reasonable. The bathroom was clean. I am usually pretty picky with signs of mould in the grout but this was good. I had a view of the street and a good flat screen TV. The restaurant and bar in the foyer are pretty good, not sure of the cost of meals. On the surface it was pretty reasonable all round.

First stayed in this hotel in 2008, and gave poor review. Contact from IC corporate suggested that the hotel was now upgraded, and being better managed.

However the three problems I highlighted in 2008 remain.

1. Shuttle was a disaster previously. Their answer? OUTSOURCING. The outsourced company had rude drivers with poor English skills, and the outsourcing means the shuttle goes to several hotels, the HI not being first. Also the so-called "complimentary" shuttle is now $6 each way, for essentially a five-block run. A run you can't really make by walking unless luggage free.

2. Internet is still almost $30 a day, and still gets slowed to a crawl after only 20% of the paid-for data is used. (What other country in the world charges for data???) This is a continued ripoff of epic proportions. Cost of a monthly internet connection in Australia is roughly the same as this daily charge.

3. Televisions now replaced with cheap flat panels, but the two I saw were never set up properly, are displaying 16:9 HD pictures incorrectly so that you can't read the superimposed text or closed captions, and the signal is so bad it's a complete waste of everyone's time and money.

It's Australia. Bloody typical.

All the hotels in the airport precinct use a shuttle service called Sydney Super Shuttle as imposed by Sydney Airport. We will forward your feedback to them to ensure that they review their service behaviours.

I appreciate your comment on the internet service - the hotel offers 20 mins complimentary wireless internet in the lobby and Biggles bar allowing our guests to check emails and prepare early check-ins for their flights - our Superior King rooms also offer 200mb of complimentary internet.

Our hotel TV's are 37inch Toshiba flat screens and guests have access to all of Sydney's digital channels as well as fox sport and other leisure channels.

We arrived just after 10 in the morning and although all we wanted to do was leave our bags until we could check-in later in the afternoon, we were offered a room straight away. Have just completed an overnight flight this was a very welcome offer. The staff were excellent and the accommodation very comfortable. The hotel is just far enough away from the airport not to be disturbed by aircraft noise. The shuttle from stand 32 at the airport is quick and frequent costing just $6 each way.

Quite acceptable airport hotel. Advertised airport courtesy service is outsourced, as things are these days, so a very impersonal service where ou have to walk to an unknown location and wait, and wait and wait. Rooms look quite tired, but are clean. Fancy named pillows are a fancy advertising gimmick and are quite poor quality. Charged for the complimentary airport pickup, but when queried happily removed the charge.

Great location for the airport. Rooms are clean, efficient and typical HI standard. Restaurant is good and necessary as nothing is really close if you don't have a car and have to walk. Rooms are suprisingly quiet considering you are so close to airport.

Room Tip: Higher facing rear is probably quieter but views nicer in front.

Great location for a quick stop over in Sydney.
Free airport pick up offered by this hotel and paid "as you use" shuttle bus for airport drop off.
Comfortable, clean rooms with loads of light from floor to ceiling windows.
Great little bar downstairs.
Recommended for a stop over for sure !

Very convenient for the airport--few minutes on the shuttle. Very friendly staff and large room with very comfortable bed. Just a few minutes walk from Mascot station which gets you into CBD and Darling Harbour in 15min for a fraction of the cost for the same train from the airport. Just don't know why these big chain hotels charge so much and then nickel and dime you for the short shuttle and WiFi.
