In a city where I have only rarely been disappointed by restaurants, in an area where there are quite a few truly super restaurants, the best I could do was to rank this as average. Four of us went to dinner: two ordered hamburgers, one a sliced rump roast sandwich, and one surf & turf.
The restaurant is on the 1st floor (2nd floor as counted in the US). The furnishings are functional but somewhat Spartan. We were seated near the window but, in general, the dining room appeared dark. The service was prompt, helpful and pleasant. We did not think the prices high for the area.
One thing gave us a chuckle. We were somewhat early for the standard dinner hour hereabouts and the place was absolutely empty. The individual who seated us asked if we had a reservation and when we responded in the negative looked carefully over the seating chart before leading us into a good-sized but completely empty dining room. When we left there were only four or five tables occupied.
Our burgers were well done . . overcooked to be honest. The steak in the surf and turf, ordered medium-rare was at best medium-well and, actually closer to well done. The sandwich, while tasty was short on the beef.
With a plethora of restaurants to choose from when I am next in the area I will pass this one by.
