Look, when it comes to mexican food I have been spoiled. Basically there is a taqueria on every other block in San Francisco, and you can get anything from one dollar street tacos, up to gourmet regional mexican cuisine. We stopped in and Mex and Co. for a quick lunch on our way to the beach. I've tried a few mexican restaurants in australia, and for the most part they don't have a clue. I think they're trying to do some sort of interpretation of mexican, but we have not been able to find good basic mexican food. Mex and Co was good food, and I recommend it. Location is great, right on the beach, service people were friendly. Muy Bueno

Great location with a pretty good view over manly beach. The interior is pretty amazing with exposed brick, low lighting and a pretty nice rustic look. There is a pretty good tequila bar upstairs and offers an even better view of the ocean.
The food was pretty tasty with sufficient portion size. The pork belly burrito was fantastic with a good percentage inside the burrito.
The margarita's were pretty amazing and enjoyed by all at the table. The largerita (coronita plus a margarita combined) was unusual but surprisingly very good.

In search for some vegetarian options for Good Friday, we happened across Mex and Co. and decided to try it. Although my family visiting from Texas was weary about Mexican food made nowhere near Mexico, they weren't disappointed. In fact, they loved it! We ordered chips, quesadillas, shrimp fajitas and tacos to share, which came with pico de gallo, guac and sour cream. All were enthusiastically and quickly consumed. The obvious favorite was the fajitas with a dash of pico. We also had room for the churros with dipping chocolate. Double yum. There may have even been a argument over who got to have the last one.

Service was very friendly and attentive. Our water never went empty, plates were cleared regularly to make room for the next dish, and we were checked on frequently (but not so frequently that we felt we were being rushed out the door.) It's right on the beach, so I'm sure there is an amazing view when it's not dark, and it's an easy walk from the Manly Ferry. I'd definitely go back and highly recommend this tasty place.

We stumbled upon this on Good Friday and it seemed like a good choice as there was a great range of vegetarian and seafood options - we weren't let down. The clear winner on the night was the fajitas (vegetarian served with zucchini, haloumi, capsicum and onion with all the usual trappings). I thought the vegetarian tostadas were pretty impressive too - arrived on a platter of three, piled high with vegies, cheese, guacamole etc - the challenge was eating them without losing all the topping, or at least rescuing it with a fork. The chicken enchiladas proved popular too.

Somehow we had room for the churros for dessert - the chocolate dipping sauce was great even on its own - think of it as a Spanish hot chocolate (grin).

Service was friendly but not too pushy and although they were busy there was no pressure to vacate the table the moment you put your fork down.
