The Novotel Manly provided us with a wonderful view and amazing service from extremely accommodating staff however we were not told that our 2 bedroom ocean suite was above the function room which had an outside terrace with lots of noisy people and a 5 piece live band playing inside underneath our room!! not great as we had chosen this night to have an early one ready for our long lunch the next day. Staff offered complimentary breakfast as a service recovery gesture however with so many amazing places around for breakfast we chose not to take up the offer. Anyway a good night sleep is that we wanted and I would highly recommend if staying ocean front, stay to the northern end of the hotel. Generally the feel of the hotel is relaxed and generous, the rooms are not luxurious but are ok. There were some minor points I thought could improve but they were so minor that its not worth mentioning, overall I would say 3 out of 5, next time we might try the Sebel down the road, it s part of the same chain and looks a little more intimate, worth a go!

Our stay started out on a bit of a stressful note as I called the day before to confirm the bedding arrangements and was told that as I booked a good deal through 'lastminute.com.au', requested arrangements were not guaranteed and .. they weren't. I was to be charged $65 per night for a rollaway bed. I explained that this pretty much negated any "deal" I got and after a but of a tense standoff the rollaway fee was waived for the two nights. We are also upgraded to a room with a balcony. Although this was nice it was right next to the elevators and fire stairs. It wasn't too noisy though.

The room was really lovely and the balcony overlooked Manly oval and surrounds. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice but I was disappointed not to have a bathtub. The room boasted the longest desk ever and it housed the tv and a few odds and ends. Mini bar prices as expected.

Local and national newspapers were available daily at a table near the elevators.

The location is absolutely spectacular. You step out on to a gorgeous view of Manly beach and it is completely accessible. We watched the sunrise from the rooftop pool on our first morning and it was unforgettable. So was the temperature of the pool! The spa was nice and warm though. A really nice touch is lovely beach towels available to you as you exit the elevators to the pool and spa.

We were enjoying a restful Sunday evening sunset at the pool when a group of around 10 kids arrived and quite literally bombarded the pool and spa. Relaxation zero.

We parked the car in the hotel on the second night because we got a $100 parking ticket the night before. Boooo! Parking around Manly is diabolical. Hard to get one and only 2 and 4 hour paid parking spots so its worth the $20 or $25 to park in the hotel.

Charlies Bar on the ground floor was packed on Saturday night as was the Corso and esplanade. It was so lovely to be out in Manly on a lovely Saturday night. We had a wonderful Sunday breakfast seated right in the middle of the Corso as the sun came up and a smiley face was painted in the sky. We didn't eat at the hotel at all and instead found nice places all around the Corso.

The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Check in and check out was efficient and friendly. No issues with charges etc.

We had a lovely stay and the location is truly unbeatable. We had magnificent weather and although we left Manly and saw Sydney sites during the day we loved coming back to the hotel and loved waking up and stepping out the door to the gorgeous beach.

Room Tip: If you are from overseas or interstate book a room with a view to make the most of such a wonderful...

Travelling with 3 kids 5 and under, 1 with a disability if never easy, but we decided we needed a break away. We chose to stay at Novotel Manly and I am glad we did. The location was perfect. Right across the road from the beach, 1 block from the mall. There is plenty to see and do in Manly. The only small annoyance we had was we were in a room right at the back of the complex, and had to change lifts to get to it from the car park and then work away through a long winding corridor. With 3 small children including 1 with special needs this was quite difficult as well as dragging our suitcases, but all in all. I was happy with the stay. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms was basic but clean and nice and the bed was reasonably comfortable. We will definitely be back and we are happy to recommend to other families.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the front building so you dont have to change lifts and you can exit on the main s...

We had a great stay here for three nights over the weekend. Stayed in a non-ocean view room with two queen beds. It had a nice size balcony to relax on, staff were extremely helpful when we had any questions or requests. I arrived early at about 11am and they were kind enough to let me into the room as it was already made up - such a bonus! The room was kept pretty clean, could use a bit of vacuuming under the cupboard and dusting on the balcony furniture - but this didn't deter us in our stay at all.

I'm not sure I would pay full price for the room at 220 per night, but I was happy with the deal I scored through hoteltravel (although I was a bit sceptical at first about the website so I made sure I called and confirmed the day after booking), no other websites could offer anything close to that. Only one downside was when we called through for room service, it took a while for anyone to pick up the phone, but we got through eventually .

I absolutely love staying in Manly when I come to Sydney and this place is located perfect to everything! Very happy with our stay.

Dear Amybro2013,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of the hotel regarding your stay at the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific on Trip Advisor.

It is great to hear you were able to access your room early. We try our best to accommodate our guests with these requests.

A “walking distance” location, to so many of Manly’s leading attractions conveniently accessible on foot, its Manly’s generous appeal and alfresco lifestyle that makes this landmark location a must see on any Sydney itinerary.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific in the near future.
