“Noisy, dirty, old and in need of a complete overhaul.”
Reviewed November 11, 2010

Room didnt appear to be clean. The bathroom had hair in the shower. Skirting boards and edges of carpet hadnt been vacuumed in a long time. Walls had scuff marks all over them, the ceiling was dirty and marked. The room was very noisy from the passing traffic. Shower didnt work properly (the shower rose actually fell on my head when half way through my shower, the water went cold). The noise from the plumbing was unbelievable, we even had two staff members come and knock on our door to see what the noise was. The beds appeared to have clean sheets on them, but two of the pillows appeared to have been used (complete with black hair on it). We got one of the spare pillows from the cupboard, and it had blood on it!!! I tried to ring down to reception to have replacement pillows sent up, but the in-room phone didnt work. I had to use my mobile to ring reception. If we werent already in our pjs and ready to go to bed after a long exhausting day, we would have packed up and left that night!

It was a good stay. Room was clean with good linen. Has enough parking. Taxi service is available 24 by 7. On the whole exceeded expectations for a web booking!!!

We booked here after a cancelled tiger airline flight made us very late into Sydney (and too late to catch a train for 2 hrs home at night). It was 5km from the airport however the taxi ride took us much longer and cost us over $20.

The room had chipped furniture, chips in walls and ceiling.

The shower had black hair in it - it was definitely NOT clean.

The towels provided had a hole in it and the man at the reception didn't really care.

Ive stayed at much better backpackers dormitories than this hotel.

My 9 yr daughter refused to sleep in the bed - she slept on top of the bed with her travel sports rug on top of her.

Regardless of how poor your budget is - dont stay here.

Stayed here two nights for a convention at UNSW. It was walking distance to the uni and there were good restaurants/supermarkets etc around, but the hotel itself was crap.

Funny thing is it *could* be good. We had a "triple" room which had one double (advertised as queen) and one single bed. It has air conditioning, what should be a serviceable bathroom and self-catering area, as well as a little desk area.
BUT
- lights seemed to not work very well. half the time light switches didn't seem to work
- massive gouge and staining in the ceiling and huge dirty cracks on walls
- the cook top had been taken out - the hotel folder in the room said "please note the cooktop has been turned off due to fire restrictions"... WTF?! The sink didn't work properly and the pipes made a god awful noise...
- there was no soap or shampoo provided in the bathroom, which wasn't clean. i honestly felt like i needed a toilet seat cover it seemed so bad
- the little desk area was set up like a desk, but there was no chair!
- the TV had no remote, and seemed to only have chinese TV channels with anywhere near good reception

For $150 a night I expect a LOT better. This was not the centre of sydney - i've had better accommodation in the centre for a better price!

DO NOT BOOK HERE. GO ELSEWHERE.

This hotel needs to be demolished. The reception area is deceiving. Our room smelt of old smoke, the ceiling and carpets were water marked, the walls filthy and in need of paint, and the skirting boards were coming away from the walls. I don't think the room had been cleaned in ages - the bathroom was covered in dust, and the shower was mouldy. All the taps leaked / dripped. The whole room felt dirty and grimey. I now wish I'd taken photos of the black stuff that was growing up in the corner of the wall/ceiling area. There was chewing gum stuck to the bedspread of the double bed. The bed heads were covered in unidentifiable marks (similar to body secretions). There were no mattress protectors, and the pillows smelt old and dirty. There was no bedside light. There was hair hanging from the bathroom wall, and hair in my "clean" towel. Upon arrival, there were not enough towels for the 3 of us in our room, and Iasked from more from the reception staff person (male). He did not really seem to care, although he did get me another towel. The only positive is that our room was quiet (217) and the aircon worked (though I wondered how often they cleaned the filters). This hotel is a dump - we will never stay there again. It is way overpriced. I wondered if we'd got a better room if we weren't caucasian

The room did not appear to have been cleaned for a very long time. Over priced for what you get!! No remote control for TV only 3 channels available. The reception area (recently refurbished) is very deceiving. This is more of a dormitory than a hotel. Would never stay here again if given the choice. Whilst leaving a lot of others were complaining.

horrible hotel experience. just stayed with me and my dad for one night but it was not a good night. we got there and they couldn't find our booking (made through wotif) so after a lot of fuss they eventually showed us to our rooms. the first room we got showed too was facing the road and reeked of smoke (two things which i specifically said i didnt want). we went and got our room changed and the second was smell free and facing away from the road.

the beds and room was average but the worse thing that made for absolutely NO SLEEP was the aircon. as we had to keep the sliding door shut because of road noise, we had to use this to get some airflow in the room. the thing is that it kept switching from cold to extremely hot meaning you would wake up in the middle of the night in a sauna like environment. absolutely crap. and to top it all off the alarm clock was fantastically set to go off at 1am in the morning for no apparant reason.

shocking experience. i won't stay here again (and it wasn't even that cheap either)
