Best aloo baigan in Sydney. Their curries are delicious overall. With some if the mixed vegetable dishes, as they are not slow cooked as they should be, done of the beans were soggy (water squirting out), this is a no no in Indian food were food should be thoroughly cooked to release the flavours and maximise texture. In Chinese cooking, a semi cooked vegetable dish is appropriate as it goes with their flavour bases. Deserts do not great: stodgy. But overall the good is amazing

Our second visit was on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was busy right from the start of the evening with a steady flow of customers, either eating in or ordering takeaway.

The service was efficient and timely and the staff cordial. Advice on choice of dishes were readily imparted. The entree arrived quickly after ordering and the mains followed with no lengthy intervals. The manager knows off the top of his head what has been ordered from each table. There is a quick turnover of customers who leave satisfied.

The food is delicious and with their individual tastes, not all having the same nondescript spice flavour. Meat pieces were in recognisable chunks, succulent and soft, without the gristle and fat. Vegetarian dishes are highly recommended.

Side dishes of naan bread are soft, fluffy and one cannot stop eating them dipped in the curry sauces.

The meal is indeed value for money and one comes away full and contented.

However the noise level is rather high and makes group conversation rather difficult. The traffic from the continual takeaway customers do not make it a convivial dining experience. Tables for two are placed too close together and one has to fight to sit down without being squashed. There is another dining area behind but do not know if that is better. BYO.

I have been to Thousand Spices twice now and I am yet to be disappointed. The food is very reasonably priced with it generally costing $20 per head and you walk out very full.

The curries are sublime and whilst it is not a fine dining restaurant, it is a great place to have a nice casual meal with family or friends.

Recently renovated to now include a function area, the menu has only improved over time. Staff are always friendly and service is good. Our favourites are the rara gosht and the flaky nann. Sublime!

Good place for family or friends to catch up.. Definitely not a place for romantic dine. If you like Indian cuisine, you won't disappointed
