Description: Twenty One (21) Espresso is one of Australia's oldest restaurants, founded in 1958 by John Schiffer - Father and Grandfather to the restaurant's current owners George and Michael. Twenty One was the first restaurant to introduce European style dining to Australia in the form of outdoor seating and also had one of the very first espresso machines - hence the inclusion in the restaurant name. Today, you can find traditional Hungarian and European dishes on the menu, whilst dining in a comfortable and cosy setting with warm and attentive service. The restaurant is open all day every day, should you feel like just popping in for a coffee and cake and to soak in the atmosphere.

“Classic Central Euro Comfort Food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Old school, central European comfort food, the way they don't make it anymore! Classic proportions and old world service. If you need a hit of matzos ball soup, goulash, wiener schnitzel et al look no further...even better in the cooler months and very popular on Friday evenings, so don't forget to book!

“Central European taste in Double Bay Sydney”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Excellent place to snack on Central European food whilst watching passing people parade. The service is friendly and the food delivers what it promises whilst it is not absolutely amazing it is freshly prepared and comforting.Good place to stop for home -away -from home experience

“Comfort food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

Been a stallwart for many years of excellent comfort food. Service is efficient and very reasonable value considering the size of the portions. Bring an appetite, otherwise have 2 Entree's, share or just have a main, they are large servings.

Yummy traditional Hungarian style food, like Hungarians cook at home. A real treat.A special feature of any time I visit Sydney. I always visit & always finish off with their superb chestnut puree
