Beautiful Nepalese food, similar to Indian food, but flavours are a little more subtle. Lamb delicious and very tender. Great service. This restaurant has moved next door to where it used to be in Crows Nest. Its fresh and bright interior is much more cheerful than its former location next door. An extremely pleasant evening.

Mustang is in the restaurant precinct of Crows Nest, so already has a lot of competion from many other resturants. The refreshing change of Mustang is to try something a little different, perhaps something you and your friends have not experienced before. The menu is similar to Indian; with beef, lamb, chicken, goat, fish, prawns and vegetarian. Yet the meals seem lighter and more aromatic than Indian. Apart from the thinner style of roti, there is also paratha bread and rice pulau - an unusual mix of basmati rice, onions, green peas and mixed nuts combined. I would give the food a higher rating if they would use more tender cuts of meat as the last few times I've eaten from Mustang, the meat has been a little too chewy for my taste.
The restaurant and staff portray a feeling of Nepal with atmosphere and friendly service. The restaurant is BYO wine and there is a bottle shop a few shops away. There is an upstairs dining room to cater for functions and busy nights. The restaurant is suitable for couples, families and larger groups and is open seven nights a week. Mustang has normal eat-in dining and eat-in banquet, a take away menu and even has a limited home delivery service.
There are public carparks only a short walk away. Buses pass by regularly and there is taxi rank nearby.

We discovered this Crows Nest "hidden treasure" several years ago, and we return on a regular basis. The restaurant moved location several months back to a larger site but the decor, food and staff remain as authentic as ever. Having visited Nepal several times I always enjoy visiting the Mustang Restaurant to view the spectacular photos and it reminds me of the joys I had trekking in various parts of that country.

Our last visit was on Sunday 27 June, the date of a significant birthday, and our banquet was worthy of the occasion. Several months previously we visited with my sister and her partner. She is vegetarian, not that there is anything wrong with that, but she doesn't usually enjoy the restaurants that I have chosen that have vegetarian dishes as an after-thought to the menu. She loved the meal that we shared and was clear that she will always return to Mustang whenever she visits us. As she is also a very fine cook that is high praise from her.

We believe the value to be exceptional, and while we do have our favourite dishes we generally have one of the banquets. The entree is always delicious and a good start. I prefer the goat curry but my wife loves the butter chicken. The desert is a perfect finish with its spicy cream melt in your mouth moment.

Just a little different to the many Indian restaurants in Crows Nest have always thought this offers a little more than the rest. Very tasty food, service is always great and prices are very reasonable.

Am not sure whether it's the freshness of the ingreients or the flavourings used but this frequently gets the vote in our house when we are looking for a local night out ine the busy Crows Nest strip.
