We went as a group...2 families for a sunday lunch. The most memorable thing was the service both by their professional authentic Italian waiters to the chef himself, who comes out of the kitchen to have a chat and explain or introduce the dishes to you..special indeed!!! Next comes the food, the food was overall very good but only just. We had the mixed platter salumi of cured meats which was good. The seawater fish which was also good although not exceptional. The squid ink spaghetti which was good but once again not excellent (we have had better in other sydney Italian restaurants) and the kids seem to enjoy their burgers. Good selection of wines and beers. The atmosphere is also good as it is an open restaurant (al fresco) with partial views of Cronulla beach but once again one of the negatives is its proximity to Hogs Breath café with all their noisy crowd ogling you as you eat your food...and then finally the value...well we did find it a bit expensive for the overall experience however as most people know Cronulla is not re known for their amazing restaurants or food scene yet Giro Osteria is a great addition and definitely a step in the right direction for the locals....We would go there again but probably for a special occasion only.
