“Worst hotel ever”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 16, 2014

Calling this hell hole a hotel is an insult to real hotels. This is not even cheap motel quality. Dirty, tacky, old fashioned. Facilities are: a smelly Spa...yes a very foul smell came from that dark dingy hole, then the oldest, dirtiest and nastiest pool in South Florida, and a tiny spot of beautiful Sunny Isles beach (which you can access for free without even have to cross through their dirty lobby anyway) It is incredible that this spawn from hell is still doing business in such a nice area. Sunny Isles is a very nice up and coming beach front area with this horrible building sticking out like a sore thumb. Terrible service, Valet parking is is dangerous they almost crashed my car. Made it as far as to the room door and ran away from it. There's roaches and bed bugs, I'm not kidding, also the room smelled like cigarettes which is an upgrade from the foul smell everywhere else. Also I don't know where they advertise but guests at this hotel are scary. Another thing, Sunny Isles is not close to South Beach. It is close to Aventura which is very nice, to Hallouver Beach and Bal Harbour (all very nice), but be prepared for a 30 minute drive to South Beach.

Please do yourself a favor...stay away from this place...it is hell on earth.

you've been warned.

I stayed two nights and I wish the weather was better to have enjoyed the beautiful ocean view from my room. Staff at the pool bar was great and friendly, nice place to watch a game. Valet and front desk staff was extremely helpful as well. Will definitely be back!

This was meant to be a special holiday with business class flight and a cruise with a few days in Miami at the start. The hotel was a dump clearly a lot of people had got free stays as long as they agreed to go to marketing talk about joining a holiday club. The room was tired the location so far out of Miami that a taxi would have have been $40 each way downtown so we went by bus which was cheap but slow. Pool area was awful. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

A few months ago I was looking for a Hotel, parking, and on the beach. I found Newport Beach hotel and began talking with Lance of group sales. With the communication as far as needs an making sure my large group of jetskiers and parking for jetski trailers and trucks was suiteable for us. An boy was it! I could not ask for better parking, security, rooms, and of course the beach. Everything work perfect for us as far as our stay. I would highly recommend the hotel to other people and do not often like to put it out. Thank you Lance and to the Newport beach staff and parking staff. I will be back!

Sure they offer free internet - if your prepared to sit in the lobby to do everything. Signal does not reach any of the floors. The rest of the hotel was fine, but this was a real pain. Very busy place.

Loved this hotel. A quieter location away from the hustle and bustle but direct access to the beach. The room was one of the largest we have ever had. The staff were brilliant and could not be faulted.

Stayed at this "resort" for 2 nights...the first night I arrived at 2:30 am...the front desk clerk was profoundly sleeping in a "working position": hands on the keyboard, face directed at the screen but completely in the arms of Morpheus...she apologized and checked us in...went to my room and the keys did not work....went back to the front desk, and clerk was sleeping again...same position...she really manages in a way that the camera behind her captures her working...in any event, after a couple of more attempts, she finally get security to let us into our room...
Breakfast is horrible....for the price paid, I was expecting a better selection...scrambled eggs, overcooked bacon, oatmeal, danish, bad bread and coffee...you have to pay if you want to get the good stuff like fruit, yogurt, etc...
Towels are so old that original blue color looks more like white....rugs and carpet are disgusting...my brother in law had to be treated for allergies after the stay...they charge you $18 for "resort fee" whether you use the facilities or not...would happily pay even more if they kept facilities clean and inviting...bottom line, this hotel needs a deep clean and change of rugs, carpet, linens and basically an overhaul of their infrastructure...is disgusting....had no option but to stay a second night because I prepaid the room...moved out to a Courtyard close to Aventura Mall..what a difference....kudos to Marriott for keeping their facilities clean and up to their reputation...

Do not stay at Newport...expensive, filthy...you have much better options around....
