“Great Getaway - Girls Weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

I've stayed in several hotels on Collins - Miami and I must say Newport is the best so far.
The staff at front desk where very accommodating, there was 6 girls and 2 rooms and one group wanted a smoking room (which they don’t have) but they were nice enough to give us a room with a balcony. The rooms are slowly be modernized it seems like they started from the bottom up, one group of us stayed on the sixth floor and it was upgrade, beautiful, clean, it was like one bedroom condo style. The other room was on the 8th floor and well let’s just say they haven’t gotten pass the seventh floor, I guess that's what happens when you ask for a smoking room...hehe!

During our stay we had an issue with our room and they allowed us to stay in the model suite on the first floor of the hotel as the hotel was fully booked (Columbus Day long weekend).
Wednesday & Friday nights are ladies night, which means all you can drink :) We took full advantage of the hotels facilities. The only down fall with the hotel is the extra fees, they charge an $18 plus tax per day resort fee, $20 daily for velvet parking or $15 per day for self parking (across the street), you get no meals with the resort fees and the resort is opened to outsiders and they are not charged a fee.

Since the hotel does not charge outsiders to use the pool/beach, I think the resort fees should be including in the daily rate of the hotel per night this way it doesn’t look like we are paying for outsiders. Overall I had a great experience and I will be returning to Newport beachside Resort & Spa.

The hotel is in a really good location(163 & Collins), there are RK Plaza's across the street, iHop, McD, Starbucks, and more. Hey Newport, can you include an continental breakfast???? Thank you for the great experience.

I understand not everyone can get a perfect ocean view, but when is sold as such you better have that to offer. The first room that was offer to us had the view of the shell gas station which we objected. The room we had to stay (they did not have anything else available) had a partial view of the beach and mostly of the dirty roof.
The rooms are nice and spacious, (even 2 TVs), but the maid came around 4:45 pm to clean it. We wanted to get ready for dinner but decided we would leave for her to clean the room. She wasn't happy about it, but we did not understand her creole (so who cares).
And finally the TOWELS. Why don't they give the voucher for them immediately when you get the key to the room? Going to and from places asking where to get the towels is ridiculous, specially when you are getting everything BUT super absorbent, unbelievably soft & sumptuous beach Towels.

Room Tip: Visit the Porterhouse walking distance. 3 for 1 happy hour.

Overall the hotel is beautiful. I just had a bad experience with the front desk because of "POOR" communication. Who has an exclusive resort and no free shuttle service to and from the airport? Newport Beachside. The bright spot of my trip came from someone who works at the restaurant name "Yuly" who works under Vladimir Michael. My wife and I came for a tour of the property and was suppose to receive a coupon for breakfast. After a few attempts to collect, Yuly checked her list of recipients and noticed we were suppose to receive one. I then informed her I was told we did not qualify for one. Not knowing my financial situation, Yuly made sure not only my wife and I ate this particular day but we had breakfast the entire stay. It meant a lot to my wife and I but gestures like this needs to be recognized. Yuly the bad experience I had at the resort would because of your kindness will make me consider staying here in the near future. Thank you Yuly and Vladimir. Hope to see you guys again!

What a nice relaxing hotel and a beautiful view of the ocean! As I walked in the room, I was amazed at the cleanliness and the spa like feel of the room. The beds had crisp, clean sheets and were incredibly comfortable. I could not have had a better room. This is the place to stay in Sunny Isle!

If you love great beaches, wonderful service, modern/clean facilities, flawless staff, guest services priority treatment, gourmet/budget-friendly food and beverage and all-day/all-night excitement and fun, the Newport Beach Hotel & Resort in the Sunny Isles beaches area of Miami is exactly what you want and need. No matter what kind of event you want -- mini vacation, wedding, reunion, mental health getaway -- this is the place. Everything is so easy to arrange and so simple to enjoy.

We held our 45th annual high school reunion (Miami Norland Senior High) last weekend at the Newport -- and it was sensational. The location is without peer: Atlantic Ocean-front. The catering of all three of our events was flawless: delicious, plentiful food and great diverse drinks -- and, reasonable prices for our group. They provided a great room rate for our attendees -- and they're willing to work with you to ensure you get everything just as you want it, even down to helping you with great suggestions for menus -- and on decisions like "sit down dinner service" or "scrumptious buffet" for your group. I need to mention again: Amazing service.

I would give special praise to Tammy Malamud, the best staff exec we've ever worked at any hotel for a big event. Tammy was our first and best point of contact for helping to plan our entire event for 60 people. I'm sure she's worked with much larger groups -- but she treated us as if we were the most important event in town -- in every meeting or long-distance phone call for the advanced planning. Over the period of several months, she was always responsive -- and properly pro-active in reminding me, politely, of various decisions, deadlines and opportunities to enhance our events for the reunion. We also appreciated the work on the entire staff -- with special additional shout outs to Lance Detotto, for helping arrange our great guest room rate, and the catering leaders of Vladimir and Anna, who anticipated our every need for the opening reception, poolside barbeque and our closing cocktail party/dinner/dance. The international accent of this catering staff added a touch of intrigue and elegance even to a simple reunion.

I've never worked with a hotel that was so completely customer friendly and service oriented in every aspect of our visit and event. We liked it so much that we 'gave away' a door prize of a three-day/two-night stay at the Newport.

But all of us will be winners when we likely hold our next reunion -- which will be much bigger -- at the Newport in five years. But many of us are not going to wait that long. We plan to return with spouses, friends, in smaller groups -- to continue to enjoy this jewel in the crown of the more affordable and beautiful northern beach-side parts of Miami-Dade County. Check it out....Visit just one time -- and you'll be back, again and again. The hotel pool and deck are very large -- so there's as much room to swim there, nearly, as there is in the just-steps-away Atlantic.

The "305 Kitchen" restaurant is so good, locals eat there, every night...and the spa is a place you could envision spending lots of relaxing time....

Room Tip: Make a deal for a three-night weekend....If you only do two, you'll wish you had at least one mo...

Here is a great place to stay and enjoy the sun and beach, walk down the poolside straight to the beach or stop at one of many pools on property, eat cheap, or at a five star, we had a great time, the only bad side is that half the property was sold as timeshare and those owners bought the ocean view condos and use it,

But out side of that we enjoy the week,

Room Tip: Stay on the south side condos they all have ocean view of course while sitting on the deck

As we checked in we were told that we can upgrade you to a room with a partial view of the Ocean instead of City View, great of course! No not great we overlooked the roof that was dirty and full of trash. If you extended your head and turned sideways you could see the Ocean. Get to our floor and walk through construction to get to room and then open door, horrible. The room was so out dated no wonder they are renovating. No room to barely move with two people, plus we had 2 drawers to put our clothing & closet had 4 hangers. As we start to unpack it just got worse, look up and find mold growing around air supply vent. We were moved but not worth the cost and then fee charged on top of room charge for entertainment and beach. Plus if you needed to rest during the day forget it, construction with jackhammers going all day. Worse hotel I have ever stayed at, nothing relaxing here.

Room Tip: This hotel is in the middle of a renovation, even though we were moved to a renovated room it was st...
