My family were looking for a nice hotel on the beach with a pool and were enticed by the fact it had a playground for kids. Extreamly disappointed! Pool busy with rambunctious people, beach ok. Room was not only outdated but grimy. Worst of all, room next to us had a huge fight and took 20 minutes and 2 calls to front desk for someone to address the issue. We actually walked down to double tree and were very disappointed that we did not book there as the public playground is across from doubletree and location was much better. If you have a young family and are looking for a nice relaxing spot Newport beachside is not the hotel!

We booked a weeks stay at this resort for our awesome beach wedding that we had there this past weekend on the 25th of May. Pamela Presly was our wedding coordinator who we have deemed our "Wedding Angel". Not only was she great the entire stay there, the entire staff was extremely helpful and accomadating. All rooms had not been renovated yet, but the ones that have been are amazing for the price. Highly suggest giving Newport Beachside Resort a try. And if you want a Beautiful wedding experience this resort will definitly give you Bang for your Buck. Thank you Pamela Presly for everything. Love Team Barlow.

Do not stay here!! Met several shady characters at the poolside who bragged about using the pool area for Free. Random people walk in and out of hotel and partake in all the pool and beach area ammenities without renting there. We never found a pool chair mainly because ppl from the street are using them. Security walks around in vain, no one is required to show ID or verification of rental or ownership. Due to this you have the scariest looking individuals whereby you feel safer being in the room all day. I can not bbelieve this hotel has been run down to this degree, ghetto and rudeness is all you'll see around you. There's no need to pay to hang out here, come one, come all straight from the prisons if you want to. In addition to this inconvenience, there is a daily resort fee, valet parkers will try to scam you as well. We were told Valet was 25.00 when clearly the sign says $20 but as run down and unpolished as this hotel is, parking should be free. Do NOT stay here!! Once upon a time this WAS a nice hotel, Needs new management and renovation DESPERATELY.

Maybe we chose the worse possible holiday weekend to come to Miami, but that is still no excuse for how bad this hotel is.
I wasn't expecting a posh hotel with updated rooms or anything like that. I knew from the previous reviews and photos what to expect, that being said - Our room was like a box without any windows that opened. Our fake window faced the street and there was constant noise from the traffic. AND constant noise from the thousands of people parked outside or waiting for cars in the lobby. I am not kidding. I wonder if I missed a free deal they were having because that is how packed it became. Then, the "private" beach didn't seem so private given the hundreds of people packed on it along with their blasting radios and coolers full of food. Still not kidding. I think the public beach would have been better, but this location is pretty far from south beach and this is why we chose it - to get away from the crowds. Ha
Then there were two wedding on the beach... I love weddings and all, I promise, but not 2 feet away from the $35 hut which we had to rent on this private beach in this resort which we paid for. The first wedding was sweet. The second wedding was a full on show with music blasting from speakers right in front of us. Not exactly a relaxing time. Did I mention you had to pay to get anything on the beach, like umbrellas...
We are very disappointed in our choice and will never be returning to this hotel again. As I write this, we're still waiting on the cleaning service to come.
**forgot to mention that when we were checking in, there was an irate woman complaining bout 2 cockroaches she found in her room the night before. We should have run away then.

I recently spent 2 nights at this hotel while attending a destination wedding. The staff were very friendly and were passing out champagne while you wait to check in.

ROOMS: This hotel is in need of a total over haul. They state that the rooms have been renovated, but even the renovated rooms leave much to be desired. The 1st room I received had stains in the carpet and on the sofa, had nobs missing from the dresser, the desk had huge scratches on it and the vents looked like they needed to painted or had mold around them. I requested another room. The 2nd room was a little better as far as furnishings, but the bed was horrible. Every time you sat on the bed it would squeak horribly. But we ended up just stayiing with this room because the view was pretty good (on the 3rd floor, oceanview).

STAFF: Michelle and others at the front desk were great and very accommodating. If the owners would invest in better renovations, I think this hotel could be great.

HOUSEKEEPING/CLEANLINESS: Housekeeping was a bit slow. We asked for extra towels three times one day before we finally just stopped them in the hallway to get them. Also I don't think they ever vacuum the hallways, as they were dirty. We watch a piece of candy sit in the same spot in the hallway the entire time we were there!

LOCATION: Located right on the beach, so it was a short walk to beach.

I have to say that I would probably not stay at this hotel again until they do some major renovations to improve room condition and beds.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room with oceanview and you will hopefully get a decent room.

Pier is closed for the next couple of months. Hot tub is out of order. 18% gratuity on EVERYTHING. Restaurant and everything is overpriced. $22 for two margaritas @ pool tiki hut. Excursion booked through the hotel took 2 & one half hours to our destination rather than promised 30 mins. Hotel reimbursed us two drinks. Everyone is money hungry. Don't go to the 90 minute presentation where they offer you a gift in return.. they're incredibly rude and condescending. Horrible experience.
