“Better than expected!”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

We had the pleasure of staying at the Bungalows in February 2013. As we walked trough the front gate and were welcomed with a cold beer by Jane, we realized that had made the perfect choice. The gardens are beautiful and show Earls great care and pride. The rooms are PERFECT!, big enough, comfortably decorated and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. What I loved the most was our balcony. I could watch the birds in the morning and wait for the sun to dip in the evening.
Jane and Earl go so far out of their way to make to make you feel like you have finally found the place you always wanted to be. San Pancho itself is very welcoming to visitors. Without exception, every single person, visitor or resident we encountered, was gracious and engaging.
We enjoyed the other visitors as well. Everyone seemed pleased to be in that place at that time. We can't wait for our next visit. We will saty longer than a week, that's for sure!
Thanks, Earl and Jane, see you both soon.
Padi and John Romero

Staying at Roberto’s (Earl and Jane’s) Bungalows was an extraordinary breath of fresh air. It’s a little garden oasis and the bungalows are awesome, artistically decorated, extremely comfortable and with everything you could need. Tucked onto a quiet side street just a few paces from the main street restaurants and activities and a couple blocks from San Pancho’s beautiful beach. Be sure to attend a polo match while you’re there (ask Earl). Interesting aside for dog lovers – San Pancho has the happiest pack of scrappy roaming dogs, fascinating to observe this 4-legged sub-community. And the best part is your hosts Earl and Jane. They go so far above and beyond to make sure you have a remarkable visit. Two of the kindest, most generous souls on the planet – and fun!

Where to start. There are so many positive reviews of Roberto's for a very good reason. It really is that good!! It is in a great location; the accommodation is comfortable, well cared for and beautifully decorated with an eclectic collection of art and a gorgeous colour pallet. The garden is an oasis and a haven on those hot afternoons. But the best thing about Roberto's are your hosts Earl and Jane. You quickly get taken into the family and slip into San Pancho life. Happy Hour by the pool, sunsets on the beach and Earl's rich collection of stories. They are a great couple who will do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and informative. So do yourself a favour book in - but don't take my room, and maybe I will see you next year.

We had the good fortune of ending our 8 week holiday at Roberto's Bungalows...it was perfect. The rooms are very comfortable and decorated so beautifully...we had everything we needed. The best part of staying there was meeting the owners, Earl and Jane...when we left we certainly felt like we were leaving good friends. San Pancho is a lovely small town that we definitely grew to love...everyone is so friendly and inclusive...rush hour is maybe 5 cars at one time on the road. There is something very special about Roberto's that you just don't find most places. My husband and I will definitely return and can hardly wait to do so.

Room Tip: There is not a bad room

RB was great. I second everything good that people have said on here, but I want to mention the rooster next door. The beds and pillows were soooo comfortable, and we slept great, until the rooster started crowing which was around 3 am every morning. We woke up each morning ready to kill that stupid bird.

When I chose San Pancho as my winter getaway, I did not know a single person there. Travelling alone, I searched for a place that would offer a safe, clean environment, close to the main attractions and also an opportunity to meet other people. I thought the shared courtyard would allow for this. Robertos Bungalows surpassed all of my hopes. With Earl and Jane living onsite, there were never problems with disorderly behaviors. In fact, the place seemed to attract like minded folks and many of us adopted each other as family. This wouldn’t have happened without the exceptional personalities of Earl and Jane. The courtyard was maintained to perfection and such a wonderful reprieve for relaxing, reading, soaking in the sun, a dip in the pool and sharing stories (and laughs) at the end of the day and maybe a glass of wine with a new friend. The rooms were cleaned twice a week and the bed was ever so comfortable. Earl and Jane were always on hand with suggestions for day trips or less known places to explore and went out of their way to advise on on whatever I needed to know. They make the difference.

The location of the Bungalows, in the heart of San Pancho, was perfect. Everything was within an enjoyable one block walk. I would like to add that while in San Pancho, I checked out several other bungalows for rent and none could measure up to Robertos Bungalows. This is the place that I will be recommending to all my family and friends. Foremost, it is a safe, yet happening, and exceptionally friendly community with many unexpected activities, such as regular musical and artistic events, to be had. My 3 months in San Pancho was truly wonderful and I will be back.

Room Tip: All the rooms were great.

Janette ended up at our place for 6 weeks and at first I thought that was a bit long to have someone at our Bungalows. Turns out to be a blessing. What a great person full of life and laughter. We had such a great time with all the guests that we started a Facebook page to connect all the Canadians and us. We are so enjoying the Canadians that have stayed at our place that we are taking our vacation in Canada in August. We met such awesome folks and they have invited us up to stay with them. WE LOVE OUR JOB!

We stayed at Roberto's for a week and felt like we really lucked out. The bungalows are charming, cozy, clean, authentic, and secure. They're conveniently located in the heart of San Pancho - an exceptionally friendly and delightful town. If you're looking for a luxury condo/private beach experience - don't go to San Pancho. If you want to visit old friends from home where they've integrated into a quaint Mexican village, go see Jane & Earl.
